Unawareness of Black Wall Street demonstrates need for Black History Month

Feb 17, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Examiner.com

February is when many African-Americans dread the question "Why do we have/want/need a Black history month?" The question may be said in anger or with sincere curiosity.

Black Wall Street is deffinitely an example of what we can and must do today. no ones going to look out for us economically as they will look out for their own.
i wonder what "Black Wall Street" would have been today if neanderthals had not bombed it from the sky, burned it to the grown but looted it first?
They named "black wall street" incorrectly. It should have been named multiracial. And they weren't smart enough to know theres no sense in building something you can't protect.

the tulsa race riots happened because the WHITE FOLK ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRACK WERE JEALOUS OF OUR PEOPLES GREAT SUCCESS.
simple
as
that.
not long after black wall street was destroyed from the sky and ground, white trash came to the town AND LOOTED whatever they could find left over from the carnage.
how convenient for a savage to find a simple reason to justify the murder of over 3,000 innocent people and the total destruction of a thriving and totally self dependent town.
i guess BLACK BOTTOM and PARADISE VALLEY in detroit was deliberately destroyed and justifiably so because some blk dude looked at some ole 80 year old white woman.
i guess Treme here in new orleans was destroyed because some blk girl had a fight with a white girl.
and what about rosewood? etc.. etc.. etc..
don't know about you sir, but i see a diabolical trend here.
Well they were dumb to build in an area where they couldn't easily take their assets and relocate. They should have chosen the coast or another area where they could hold on to their resources better. They were also dumb to keep building things they couldn't protect.

What they did too Black Wall Street came back on America in the Great Depression, say what you want. Then they had to rebuild Black Wall Street anyway. As I was saying, over the years, although they were stretched-out, we still had other Black Wall Streets up until around the late 50's, and until around 1960, which was when the civil rights movement was hi-jacked by TPTB with a move for integration. The whites knew that bombing these black businesses wasn't going to work in the long-run. Those civil rights sit-ins were staged, and the ideal was sold through the mass media.
Again as I was saying, the end product of integration for blacks was, high unemployment, high incarceration rates, poorer health care, the destruction of the black family unit, etc... You have did more damage to blacks than you did by bombing Black Wall Street, and in slavery. And guess what? You about to pay for it again, with an even greater depression.
Instead of properly sharing your business with blacks, that could have had this nation in the highest stage of prosperity in recent history, you chose to kill, and do business overseas. Now that you've sold us out, you are for sell, and about to be sold-out.
You were given a fake cigar for dancing with the devil, and now that cigar has exploded in your face.

Speaking for myself, I looked around and decided early in life that no one was going to give me a handout, and to tell the truth I would have been embarrassed as hell to accept one, so I worked to put myself through school. I had to work and study my ass off. I know plenty of people from all different races that had the same attitude as I did and went on to be successful.

And when I hear that I got it all handed to me and didn't have to struggle to get where I am today, it doesn't bother me. I don't need to get indignant about it since I know I earned it but I do get bored with stupid people who keep chanting the same mantra of give me-give me you owe me. That’s absolute bullshit on its face. Those of us who got ourselves educated and made a good life don't need to do anything more than encourage others to do the same. The only thing holding them back is themselves and their attitude.

Anyone standing on the soap box of repression needs to take a look at their own attitude and turn it around to get where they want to go. This is one issue I am adamant about and my heart bleeds for no man, woman or young adult regardless of their race that throws away the opportunities they do have hiding behind the shield of perceived injustice or prejudice.

To the people that think they’re owed a handout because of distress they didn’t suffer is living in a dream world. It isn’t going to happen. I don't believe in handouts, you want money to go to school then get off your ass and go to work to become the best that you can be. Don't sit back and tell me that it's too hard for you, don't sit back and tell me to hand you money because it's too difficult in our society to get ahead.

I don't care what color you are; I do care that you continue to remain uneducated and stupid, that you are lazy and expect the world to carry you along with little or no effort on your part. Get off your ass, work and pay your own damn way.

Bravo for you.

I know institutional racism exist and your degree don't mean anything when the hatchet falls.

AA's with advanced degrees are feeling the ecomomic crunch too.

People that had a great job a year ago are standing in soup lines today looking for a handout.

What you call indignant is nothing but cold hearted truth that you can't deny. Plus everything you said is easy to say after slaves made this country wealthy off of free labor, a country that practices racism to this very day. You can set here as long as you want saying whites don't owe blacks anything, but you're about to pay a heavy price, and some.

Most of what you said is the typical stereotype too many of you have. I hope you don't really believe most black people are like that, because if you do, you are more lost than I thought. Just because I tell you the truth, you talk to me as if I'm not financially independent, with no debt, and living in a brand new house, ect... I got most of this through working hard and getting degrees, but the ugly face of racism tried to take it from me. I had to fight racism and risk everything, and I wounded up on top and financially independent, basically because I fought back...some of my brothers and sisters who stood up for others didn't come out as well, but they will.

Regardless of how I came out, nobody should ever have to be put through that, for what amount to no reason at all, something this racist system has been allowed to get away with, until the roof finally caved in. You say you worked hard, went to school, and work good jobs. If that's the case, then you can't sit here and tell me you didn't witness this cruel and usual treatment to a lot of blacks who didn't even deserve it. Perhaps you was a part of it, and began to think it was some how a normal acceptable part of corporate America, and you just wanted to get ahead. I mean what were you expecting next man, a chocolate cigar? But it really makes no difference whether you were a part of it or not. The chickens has come home to roost.

You want to speak of handouts, but have nothing to say about the billion dollar handouts those bankers continue to get through stimulus packages you help pay for while you speak. And guess what, you're not getting one red dime of it. They stole black peoples wealth, now they're coming for yours. So keep criticizing black people about handouts, welfare, etc..., that's fine, because you may become even more familiar with it. You don't need to tell me or my people what to do. That day is gone. You need to worry about yourself and your people, who take up most of the welfare anyway.

I'm through here. The things I've said here are starring you right in the face. I have no more time for debating.

If you really believe slaves made this country wealthy with free labor then you are out of your mind! It may have made a few slave-owners a profit but did nothing for me!

Most blacks I know personally are successful respectable people in spite of all the hoodrat types I have encountered!

I do agree no one should have to go through what some did in years past but look here, those days are over. This is the 21st Century, pull up those bootlaces and move on!

I have always disagreed with the Obama Bailouts with Banker Bonuses since you mention it but then again I didn’t vote for them or him either time.

I criticize anyone that expects a handout, but I can respect those that need a hand-up.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by, stay in touch.

Can't believe you went back and argued every single line. The poor suffer the most? Your azz is the new poor. And you do sound concerned. Because the blunt you're smoking now isn't going to blow up in your face. This time you won't have a face. Whatever face you have now, you better use it to face the weather that's been kicking this county in the butt.

Sir, you can't fight this, not with your money, your military, or the good times you had with that blunt in 1995. Your time is up! Plus your population is on the decline. So you're being wiped out without the hands of a military. While the people of color are on the rise, and you know it. Now I'm starting to even hear white people say it, however it took them long enough.

I could blow your whole argument away about everything you said, but it doesn't really matter now. I keep telling you that. But if you want to rant about how your grandfather kicked some innocent butt back in 1920, it won't compare to the butt kicking you got coming, I bid. I suggest all black people to stay as far away from you'll as possible, most of you anyway.

As far as Einstein, you're going to need him, and I won't be responding to any of your 1995 blunt smoking nonsense. Carry on...
