NearFuture once commented "if Africans are to progress" they need to adopt an education model that attends to their unique needs and. NearFuture called this "The African Centered Education (ACE)". NearFuture further stated that "Like any other educational system it must begin from the Kindergarten level and continue all the way toward the University level...Basically, instead of learning math, science, and social studies from a Eurocentric perspective, black children must be taught in a way that uses those subjects to answer the question; "What must Black Africans do todays society in order to advance themselves?".

Do you agree with this - Do Africans need a unique education model as NearFuture emphasized, and how will that fit within the global context?

The education provided to Africans was designed to deal with and promote colonialists interests. It was never an education to help the African advance himself. It was an education about british museums, buckingham palace, swiss alps, and the history of britain. tell me what does an Africa do with that nonsense?

yes, teaching them about how they were ancient pharoahs and how they discovered America will REALLY help them when they try for a job in a big corporation. Blacks need EXACTLY the same education - for example, there is only ONE physics and chemistry and maths. There are no "black" versions.

Disagree.

Start by calling them Americans because they are not Africans.

Education should be the same for all Americans. What needs to be done is to stop pretending the ancestry is important and needs to be addressed in a special manner.

There is world history and American history taught. Let's stop pretending it's a "Eurocentric perspective".

I believe people use excuses to not advance. The education and opportunities are there. All people have to do is reach out and take them. But for some odd reason, they won't. I really think that some parents brainwash their children and teach them things from their own fantasies that just aren't true. Screws too many children up that just grow up angry and defeated at a young age.

BUT, I'm also not saying that our education system is perfect. It most definitely needs to be updated.

Ok Paddy FitzSausages I think you need to elaborate. There are several ways of interpreting your statement, but I wouldn't like to 'put words in your mouth'. How will connecting them to Pharoahs 'help' them?

The thread meant Africans as in Africans not African American or African Caribbean, etc. However, to respond to your comment, I would argue that there would not be any wisdom in teaching African Americans a different curriculum as the rest of Americans, given that they are all living and working in the same environment.

Without questioning the accuracy of your observation, my question to you auntie bee is: Do you think this would make them progress/develop and become more competitive globally?

Apparently, you have a very original way of viewing and proposing strategies for Africans' progress. However, that approach seems to raise questions on the maturity and relevance of the thoughts you are trying to share with the world especially within the context of dealing with issues of global significance. However, thank you for your apparently honest attempt to contribute to this intellectual discussion.

The Africans that I see and know do better than most black men! Not only are they highly educated, take care of their families but they generally marry!

I like the Africans alot!

The only reasons why I dont' date them is the culture is too different. I like the men and the women!

The African students did quite well during the colonial era. It's not so much the curriculum in the African countries which needs to be adapted to whatever political mastery but the teaching standard to be modeled on the industrialized world.

I see more destruction from Black males from HIV/AID, child abandonment, No support, protection or love, Drugs, and destroying your communities!

Nothing is more dehumanizing than not doing for your own!

As much as you HATE WHITE MALES MACEO YOUR SURE TAKE CARE OF WHITE WOMEN! So your supporting White males!

I'm not again IR relationships but you didn't even do for your own family but you sure did for her White family.

Why couldn't you do for your own?

Why does IR BM dating/marry out mean you hate your own people, hate on black women as well as you abandon your children and your culture for hers?

I never did what you did !

In the country where I am writing from government spends more on travel expenses of politicians than on education. 81.6 percent of children failed their 2012 Ordinary Level examinations. Surprisingly Shona, the mother tongue for the majority of the candidates,
the pass rate was only 18%. The pass rate in English was 20% but only 13%
for maths. The decline in quality of education was due to a lack of
teaching and lack of sufficient learning materials.
For many years to come, the schools will continue to be
nothing but “factories of failure”, a phrase coined by David L Kirp,
professor of public policy at the University of California, Berkeley.

As I said many times, I'm not against IR relationships!

I have a question because this is evident in many black men like yourself!

Why does IR dating/marriage to a White woman or another race mean you have to HATE on Black women, not do for your own families, abandon our children where you don't do for them or see them as well as abandon your culture in lew of hers?

Why are you so dead set against doing for your own People and so willing to help White culture when Black boys and children are suffering because of black men are absent.

I was married to a Non Black man and I didn't act that way! I never had anybody say to me that totally abandoned my family friends or culture for my mate.

I don't understand many of you Black males you willingly let Black children suffer and destroy your communities and then smirk and brag on your abuses and how you refuse to do for your own

Don't you feel this is self destructive? Other people see these behaviors in Black men and they don't understand it either! Maybe that's why blacks are so despised because you refuse to do for your own.

The sure do bring up the Fact that Black men chase White women but they sure don't want to FAther their children!

That remark made me "Cring inside" because its true!

I'm not jealous or envious of any race of women, there is not reason. What I do see is there BF/husband work with them while Black men collectively don't do anything!

But do I hate White women/other races? No! There women like me!

What sickens me is the children suffer and hever get a chance to have love support of a Father who loves them; its almost non existant in the black community!

Even if a relationship doesnt' work with a Black woman does that mean you abandon your children for an entire lifetime!

THATS FOOLISH AND LEADS YOU TOWARDS EXTINCTION! your destroying yourself with behaviors like YOURS !

Africans have been made to feel solutions to their problems can only come outside Africa. They look down on local attempt at solutions. In my country history books kids read say Livingstone or something discovered the source of the Nile, like we were not already living at the source.

Thanks for your valuable contribution ihrVati. What would you precisely recommend to develope Africa's human capital? Interesting observation on 'factories of failure'. Hopefully you won't get in trouble with the government there for participating on this thread!
