Says the bimbo-Cali chick that can't answer TWO simple question on creole culture that anyone in the loop should know, I gave you a page ago. Only reason I didn't follow up with you on that total brain fart is because I'm trying to enjoy my break from topix, because I saw that you had conceded to me and was even trying to butter up to me in the other thread so you'd appear more official talking about "Yeah, my grandmother used to tell me that same stuff, soup" lol but now that your delusional @$$ has found someone that ONCE again has made a claim and failed on delivering solid evidence to the fact you want to jump back up and keep, insisting on poking the stick at the bear. So, I will ask you again what are some key cultural difference between rural and urban creoles(besides the accent and music which me and ASC have discussed on here), what distinguishes the uptown style creole dress suit from the downtown style creole dress suits, and as a bonus tell me the roots of the Afro-creole Uptown/Downtown conflict in New Orleans(If you say any wiki mess about Anglophone/Francophone I'll know your a googling fraud) lol Also, you can join up with you friend in providing documented evidence from colonial notarial records from Louisiana of ANY white person being referred to as creole. I doubt your up for the task though.

Bascially, what it comes down to is a person, ME, can provide actually documented evidence of what creole mean, and how it was used, will using completely non-bias sources(Colonial notarial records), and display intimate knowledge of creole culture and identity while you can't. Not to mention that my IP address SHOWS that I'm in the city with the LARGEST creole population outside of Louisiana(only an hour away at that) while your @$$ is in hippie liberal California. So, you put two and two together.

Who's looking more authentic here, and who's looking like the perpetrator. BTW....when you can find ANY where that I said I was part german, I'll western union you some cash at your desired amount. lol

And keep ignoring the fact that I already posted information on an entire regimen of US soliders in the civil war from Louisiana referred to as IRISH CREOLES, and posted an Louisiana creole slave in colonial times possessing Germanic name So, I guess that blows your little "Spanish/French" theory out of the box.

Can I please enjoy my break now?

I'm Afro-Creole, thank you.

Seriously, I'm about __ close to just asking for your email address so you can skype me(no I ain't trying to get at you, so save me to self-flatterization). Tomorrow, I can get my grandparents on the phone and I'll go to my grandmothers house and snap a picture of my grandfather's birth certificate(of course I'll blur out some info.) And we'll end this for good.
You up for it?

Cool, then I shouldn't hear another word from the likes of confused identity mongrel, Cali-jezebel, such as yourself questioning the authenticity of Texas-creole like myself. Because, if you ever feel the need to have me put my claims of my personal heritage to the light. I can and will do it. Doesn't matter to me either way, because I know you ain't my kin(creole).

Peace!

Go back and read our conversation, and come back and tell me who's more informed with intimate knowledge on Louisiana creole people and culture, and can actually source their claims vs. who's just been in here blabbering on about wishful exotic fantasies with no historical or factual basis.
It's obvious.
Maybe you both have good points.

The term Creole can definitely refer and does refer to people of Spanish/French ancestry and those Creoles of color >> Native American, African, French. Some Creoles of color also have Spanish ancestry but not very many. soup is correct though. Gumbo is a major Creole dish and the word itself is some West African dialect for soup hence Creole being French with a West African dialect, the language. Jeez it's f_cking hot outside! Does the heat piss you off like it pisses me off sometimes? Anyway, most likely if someone can't trace even a great grandparent back to Louisiana and they say they're mixed with Irish but claiming to be Creole, they are lying through their teeth lol. We don't refer to the Norwegians as Latinos do we? Laissez les bon ton roulez...if they don't know that, then they are a liar. This is such THE famous saying and your parent or grandparent have used it at least once around you speaking of their roots I'm sure in Louisiana. But Creoles do not all look the same. Some ARE white looking *coughs*, others look black, almost straight off the Amistad, and then there are your mixed race Creoles (not to be confused with mulattoes). Over time, we all mixed in with one another - African, Native Americans, French, and Spaniards. When you get this mix, you can come out looking like ANYTHING. So yes the blend have changed over time but nonetheless there were mixed race Creoles here for a very long time, very long time. We all contributed great things to Louisiana as a whole no matter your Creole admixture.

People find me imposing, brash, and arrogant, because I'm knowledgeable & assert my own interpretation based on the simple facts of my culture. Some love it and some hate it. lol

But, I ain't hear to please everybody.

I just emailed you and you're welcome. Thanks for your condolences. Hmmmm lol well I don't spend that time much anymore in LA partying because I'm up here in the Rocky mountains. Soon in days I'll be back home though and party like it's the end of the world with some old friends and family. My favorite cousin is still in HI :( but I'm sure he'll be home soon and I can't wait. I actually spend more time now in Texas as I consider that my second home. I love it out there for some odd reason. Like back home, it's very laid back and slow paced to me. Lots of different spots to check out too and lakes and such. I'm a water sports fan :).

It's ok for being rude lol. You corrected yourself and backtracked. No worries. Hmmmm....well it looks like we have something in common on that arrogant and brash part(s)=-O. You give it like Augustine Comeaux gives it lol. A lot of people do not like him, those who are not Creole because like on here, they keep saying he's ashamed of his African roots by calling himself Creole or LA Creole. If you look at the man, you'd think he was a carmel skinned East Indian guy! Lol he doesn't look much African or black at all. People are always going to hate so get used to it and just take it for what it is lol. Sometimes I just shake my head and some people comments sipping my glass of wine saying "mm....mm...mm smh, clueless..soulless bytch" and just bust out laughing. You don't have an Aunt name Suzy do you who lives in TX?

You just put out the party quote for everyone, so that kinda gave it away. lol And shoot welcome to the H. You ever been to Dallas and if so which one to you prefer. The H or the D? lol Ain't nun like some crabbin of the bayous of one of the lakes. And folks do jet-skining big on Conroe. Pelican Bay Galveston is my favorite fishing whole. Galveston is also known for it's little mardi gras celebrations too. I ain't like NOLA's or Mobile's though.

My bad, ASC. This old yahoo account is asking me for a dumb@$$ security question that I never even entered. So, just try my regular gmail.

Yeah I used to be a major partier well still am kind of but not like when I go back home I guess is what I'm trying to say. The best thing I miss about NOLA is nothing closes. I can party from sun up to sun down and do it all over again lol. I can go grab a full course meal at 2ish in the morning and there will still be full streets because everyone's trying to hit the club or party in the French Quarters. Some just want to catch an underground Japanese coffee shop which is what me and would do down on or near Decatur. I loved going to the lakefront myself with the mate and friends and watching the "kool kats" do tricks and stuff on their kawasakis and yamahas. Unfortunately I've never been to Houston before but have been to Dallas and I didn't get to experience Dallas as much as Fort Worth or San Antonio. My sis lives in DFW in which she just texted me minutes ago asking me when are we leaving to go there. But I absolutely HATE San Antonio. Too hot (110-115 degrees, wtf is that?!) and the people were strange. I love DFW. I'm sure I'll like Houston a lot though especially from my BFF tells me. She used to drive out to Dallas every other weekend to visit her boyfriend at the time. She's been to Houston and said it's very nice and that I'd like it. I haven't been to Galveston but we're thinking of moving to Galveston eventually in the future. I hear there's Mardi Gras celebration there in Galveston :) and that it is a veeeeeery nice area with lots of water. I can't wait to visit. Have you been to Austin before? If so, what did you think about it? I'd rather allow my uncles catch the crabs, crawfish, and other seafoods lol. I just get prepared to eat it lol. I want some fried alligator now though. You have me hungry for that now. I want a jet ski. My friend back home in NOLA just bought one. He goes jet skiing a lot with his mate.

Man, my god mother lives in the Hills in Austin. lol It's like a California city in Texas. Very politically left leaning, hilly, it's even has it's own "silicon valley" because a lot of IT companies are leaving broke @$$ California for green, less taxing pastures in Texas.

And you got to visit houston and see the historical wards(not as many as New Orleans). We have three unofficial "black/AA wards" here 3rd, 4th, and 5th. 4th is the oldest, and known as "freedmen town", because it was the place that former slaves built and settled themselves(many of these slaves were born in Louisiana or had roots there thus they knew the architecture of Louisiana via the Yoruba of Africa. It has the most shotgun style houses of the three wards, and there's even a program to preserve the historical architecture from being overrun by gentrification. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THAT IN NEW ORLEANS! 3rd and 5th ward were settled by African-Americans mostly in the early 20th century. 5th ward is home of the former Peacock records, which made Houston the unofficial blues capital of America.

And if you want to catch some good crawfish it's got to be in season or you might as well through 'em out. lol I never buy or catch crayfish out of season. It's just a SE Texas - Louisiana no no...lol
