Black people don't vote Republican because economic issues.

Young people don't vote Republican because of social issues.

Women don't vote Republican because they want to control their reproductive rights.

Gays don't vote Republican because Republicans oppose gay rights.

Latinos don't vote Republican because of immigration.

Atheists/non-religious don't vote Republicans because they don't want to live in a theocracy.

Basically Republicans only have a base of white old heterosexual Christians and all of those groups are declining rapidly in USA.

As I said- I only listened to Glenn Beck on Fox and he was talking about how the government was corrupt in general, the federal reserve, negative effects of lobbying and pandering to politicians and things I saw to be relevant issues. I stopped listening when he said some off the wall bad things about Ron Paul and it angered me. However, I never heard Beck EVER say one thing remotely racist.
What do those others that you mention have as rhetoric that would make the people you mention be uncomfortable?
He said that Obama hated white people
3. Glenn Beck also likes to speak on behalf of the Founding Fathers and their intentions. In late 2009, he discussed the Three-Fifths Clause in the constitution, which counted slaves as only three-fifths of a person. Beck argues that the clause was written as a tool to abolish slavery, not perpetuate it.“They put [the Three-Fifths Clause] in there because if slaves in the South were counted as full human beings, they could never abolish slavery.” Historically speaking (using, you know, facts) that claim is completely false.
Just one month after he characterized Mexico as lawless and criminal – and received significant backlash for his negative generalization of a complex issue – Beck listed the only three reasons a Mexican would come to the United States on his CNN show:“One, they’re terrorists; two, they’re escaping the law; or three, they’re hungry. They can’t make a living in their own dirtbag country.”

The Constitution is what the nation is supposed to be run by- so I am concerned about how it's not followed NOW- as people were concerned how it wasn't followed IN THE PAST as well. Learning from history is great and needed- getting stuck back there is useless. There are bad things that have happened to people in my close personal life that I could dwell on, but it doesn't do any good. We just go to a new day and do the best with it.
Hi Sone,
Great post! I do not like the Democrats or Republicans. But it is hilarious to see all these people claiming the Democrats are something great. Here is what the vast majority of Democrats support:
-Socialism (big government)
-Fat cat lawyers
-Militant Unions
-Food stamps and welfare for people who are lazy and don't want to work
-Taxing people who work had to support lazy people who don't want to work at all
-Tax, tax, tax, and spend, spend, spend. That basically sums up the Democratic party.

I agree with Herman Cain. We need a third party. I would really like to see someone like Ron Paul, Joe Lieberman, or one of the libertarian candidates get in office but I don't think it is going to happen anytime soon.

In places like Chicago , East St. Louis , Detroit , Milwaukee , and many , many locales throughout the Midwest and East , Republicans are about as common as the dodo bird. And we all know the problems those cities face :

-Ridiculously high cost of living
-crime , especially BLACK-ON-BLACK crime
-non-performing schools often run by the state
-high unemployment
-non-existant manufacturing base
-HUGE and widening gap between rich and poor
-areas of these cities completely abandoned

These places have been one-party (Democrat) for decades , and as they are primarily inhabited by ignorant , easily manipulated , chemical/alcohol enhanced zombies , they will remain one-party controlled piles of excrement for the forseeable future.

Enjoy!!

you are so correct. life experiences do shape us but don't necessarily have to dictate our path in life.We all make choices it's interesting that racists have chosen their path probably because of some traumatic event in their lives as a child. For a white child to be beaten by a black child would probably leave scars that might last a lifetime. But still everyone has the ability to choose who they want to be and what they want to be.Nobody has a perfect childhood and nobody has a perfect life as an adult, but we learn from our mistakes and don't blame a whole race on our own failures or shortcomings.

Careful, you are going to be labeled a racist! Despite the fact everything you stated is 100% accurate if you tell the truth on topix you are labeled a racist. If the Democrats are so wonderful why do we have an unemployment rate of 8% and a national debt rate of over 16 trillion dollars?

Listen , I am WAY past the point of being affected whenever the dreaded "r" word is directed at me. Playing the racism card is simply the defense of the imbecilic. Present them with facts and real-world scenarios that they simply can not refute , they get agitated and frustrated , forcing them to play their favorite "hand , the race "hand". Very predictable to encounter it here in this online ghetto.

Pretty pathetic as well.

What does this mean in regards to their views-- as a collective part? How is it manifested in the Republican Party?
It means that rich republicans cater to the poor republicans based on talking racist jargon. Don't you know that selling racism generates money for their platform?

Those same republicans gather campaign contributions, for their campaign funds, every time another racist joins them.

Just as racism is manifested by the likes of rush limbaugh, ann coulter, david dukes, the same holds true for the republican party.

Well, I live in San Francisco, a city with a lot of culture and a proud history. We're a part of Silicon Valley, have the Golden Gate Bridge, are home to the world champion Giants baseball team, hosts of the America's Cup, head quaters for the Lucas Films, and the cheapest homes here generally don't sell below $600K. Most people here are educated, many professional and quite aware of the environment and the nation. We're a city in a state that is world's 9th largest economy. Republicans are about as popular here as a titty bars in Afghanistan. As long as Republicans and conservatives are seen as ignorant, narrow-minded, hate-full, and backwards as you sound, they are going to STAY that way until they collapse. In the end they will have no one to blame but yourselves.

Good riddance I say.

For the first time in my voting experience I voted ALL democrat. I even voted for Democrats I knew nothing about. I was ready to vote Green, Libertarian, Freedom -- ANYTHING but Republican. They are not to be trusted and appear to be the party of hate. I now see them as major liars and manipulators of anything that's noble. They are so bad off that not even $300 million could save Mitt Romney's campaign.

Republicans have a LOT of work to do if they expect votes. If they are not willing to repair any damage, then they deserve to collapse.

Ok Kipster , I'll address the most important aspect of your post here now , and address the rest of that drivel at a later time.

I'm talking about ......the Giants.

Kip , how in the hell has that team of scrubs won 2 of the last 3 World Series?

There are 4 (FOUR!!) Guys on that team who I would take : Buster Posey , Pablo Sandoval , Matt Cain , and Madison Bumgarner. Brian Wilson if/when he's ever healthy. That's it!!!

Y'all just have a HUGE home field advantage there at AT&T Park. Teams just can't hit there , and the Giants can pitch , I'll admit that.

Enjoy it while it lasts. The Dodgers have MUCHO DINERO to spend now , and good luck keeping up with them once they start spending it.
