You guys find it way too easy to hate other cultures, specially your own.
Would you mind if I asked what your ethnicity is?

Yes, they have internal problems. I never said nor implied that they didn't.
AA's have internal problems. Ethiopians have internal problems. South Africans have internal problems.
None of these groups are without problems, but despite these issues, Nigerians still rise above all the rest in terms of Pan African performance, bar none. You cannot take that away from them no matter what is going on in their country. All I simply said was that if anyone is going to "lift" the Black race, then it is Nigerians because they have the best track record of doing so already, and therefore, have the most going for them.
You also contradict yourself when you say that Nigeria is a regional power, then say that it is a joke.
There is no such thing as a regional power that is a "joke". The Congo is no regional power even though it is a bigger country and has the potential of becoming even more powerful than Nigeria someday.
You would have grounds to say that the Congo is a "joke" as far as "lifting" the Black race.
You cannot logically say the same for Nigeria without showing me another Black group that has done more for other Black people.
what has ni@@ria ever done to uplift the whole blk race you horn growing ape from east africa?

move to others peoples country and do well in their educational systems? make a good life for themselves there? nollywood, ni$$rian scams?

they have done nothing for us but i know of AA churches that have done missionary and charity work in n**eria....

Sigh....Year after the storm hundreds of thousands of Hatians are still in camps...It's too sad for words....I don't care if they did not get $1 in aid, they should have gotten most people in to some sort of housing by now..even if it meant ever able bodied male over the age of 15 cut down trees and build shelters...

I am tired of the excuses we AAs make sometimes over this kind of crap happening there. I won't be a party to it.

the ONLY blk nation that i know of that has done and will do for any other blk nation is BLACK AMERICANS.

we don't have no tribal system that separates us from other blks of the world and is not xenophobic. we simply see other blks as the same as us, for the most part. we are the friendliest group of blk people in the world when it comes to non-americans and for this, i am very proud.

n**erians HATE other blk people for the most part. they can't even get alone with each other: look at the situation between the Yoruba and Hausa and they are basically the same people! look at the fact that they still conduct religious wars agaisnt each other!

the last religious war was the inquisition which was over 500 years ago! god! step into the future already!!

n&&erians are hardly a positive representative for all blk people but Blamericans can pull this off easily; we have the track record already.

There is nothing that can be done for them. That's the point. They are totally apathetic, and my patience has run out. All I am willing to send them now is tools (for building shelters, farming and fishing), rice and beans to last them for one year. That should be all they need to start over...it will be hard, but maybe thats what they need.

They used to be a strong people. They won't be again until they get off the teet.

I just told you what Nigerians have done. Go back and read the passage until you can finally read and understand the words.

These people have actually established Black towns in foreign nations and created international trading networks with other Blacks.

Where have AA's done the same?

I'm not uping them in any way that is unreasonable. They have done more and continue to do more than your sorry ass has ever done.

Give me a freakin' break...

“I went to Fondren Middle School, which was in the middle of the ghetto. That was one of the darkest years for me because I encountered a lot of peer pressure. Some of the students, ignorant about Africa, bullied me and called me names such as ‘African booty scratcher’ because to them, Africans were dirty and scratched their butts all the time.

“Some asked me if I lived in mud huts and ate faeces for breakfast.

“I remember one day, when I was walking to the school bus, a boy came from behind and punched me in the face, called me an African and walked away. It took everything in me not to retaliate. I knew that God had put me in the U.S for a purpose and it did not involve fighting or selling drugs or doing the wrong things."

Yes, I'm sure they hate Ghanaians more than anybody, considering their billion dollar investments into their country.

Tell again, how much have AA's invested in Ghana? You know, that country that pioneered the welcoming of AA's to come and invest and make Ghana their home, and currently is offering out land to Diasporans?

How much money have AA's put into that country as a show of gratitude?

This isn't a religious war that is going on in Nigeria. It a political issue that will be readily solved by political reform. It has practically nothing to do with religion.

You can't even pull off Detroit. Meanwhile Nigerians are making billion dollar investments into their own Black owned cities.

"Kano, the ancient Northern city popular for its groundnut pyramids in the First Republic, is about to offer its landscape to a N252 billion international trade centre. OKWY IROEGBU reports.

CONSTRUCTION has begun on a $2 billion (about N252 billion) project, touted as Africa’s biggest trade city.

The project, to be built on a 121.2-hectare plot in Dangauro Village, on the outskirts of the city, is the brainchild of Integrated Development and Investment Services Limited (IDIS) and the Kano State Government.

Its aim is to create a trade hub capable of redefining the business environment in Northern Nigeria, by providing an attractive environment for investors, tourists and traders, and subsequently transforming the domestic, regional and international economic landscape.

...Sleek, sophisticated and visually-commanding, yet incredibly warm and exotic, Kano Economic City was thoughtfully designed with expansive outdoor entertainment areas to optimise the use of its vast space.

The land use distribution is based on acceptable international and local standards for such facilities, including multi-use (ancillary) buildings, retail and informal buildings, warehouses, roads, parking facilities, landscaping/footpaths, drainage and other infrastructure.

The facility, on completion, would provide ease of circulation and maneuverability for vehicular and human traffic, adequate parking facilities, maximum possibility for interaction among market users, provision and full utilisation of support facilities, efficient goods handling, energy efficiency and ease of maintenance and minimum development standards for health, safety and environmental standards.

Essentially, the city, being financed by a consortium of local and foreign banks led by Oceanic Bank International Plc, will accommodate a five-star hotel, residential and industrial estates, an all-encompassing shopping mall, a World Trade Centre, a retail market, warehouses of several sizes, two large cinema halls, social and recreational facilities, conference facilities, rail terminus, fuel and fire stations, banks, clinics, post offices and a maintenance building."

Most of this is talking about AID. Building infrastructure is nice, but that stuff most them were talking about isn't designed to generate a viable economy, which is why it is AID and not investment.

This is investment.

have you been following this thread? of course the small amount of african people in the states do well here, who here has ever had a problem with that? i acknowledged this in other posts but apparently you conveniently looked over those.
i said what i said to a particular person because what they have been saying about us. i wasn't talking specifically to you; next time mind your own business.
There is no such thing as minding one's own business on a public forum..and it doesn't matter who you directed your comment too..your statement about African immigrants being freeloaders is factually wrong..plain and simple.

bich you don't know what we have done to help rebuild Haiti!! you don't know what you are talking about AT ALL cause we have always been involved in haiti in some way so fk you!! what has east and horn africa did for anyone else? all i hear is how other nations are investing in you but what have you all EVER done for another nation?
all you seem to be able to do is allow others to gain good karma buy being a constant recipient of charity. even from us AA's.
You always use "we" in your arguements. Who is we? Refrain from using such words because you are incapable of helping yourself let alone entire nations.

Why are you insulting parts of Africa and the millions of Africans living there? The exchange you're having is with an individual person who probably wasn't born and bred in Africa to begin with.

South Africans have contributed tremendously to our African and diaspora African brothers, but we do not want them encroaching on us en mass.

If you live in the same house (continent) with your brother and he is having problems in his bedroom (country) do you allow him to move into your bedroom and sleep with you and your wife or give him the advice, aid and tools to sort out his affairs? Who are you helping by allowing him to sleep in your bedroom with your wife? You can sleep while you sort out your mess, but I cannot allow you to stay indefinitely. Allowing you to stay indefinitely is going to wrack my marriage and mess up my bedroom as well.
