Both of my parents are black so I always identify as black (even though I'm aware of other races from my great grandparents and beyond).
I read a post where you said you weren't a BW, hence why I asked. Did you grow up or live outside of America?
LOL
OH those were my posts against carrying a racial label "Black woman" and opting for a national one "American"...
but I was raised as a Black woman although I was born/raised in Seychelles (for the first 12 years of life)...where the majority of our population are generational mixed race creole (80%)and we(like most Africans)do not identify racially....
However..I have a militant pro-black dark skinned mother who
was an extreme activist in the 60s..and we moved to America where the one drop rule still applies..however..moving again outside of America (and being back in Seychelles) is changing my perception of being Black....I'm confused..I know :/

No it was in this thread where you said you weren't AA.

Are you an American citizen?

May I asked why you decided on Locks for love? I guess it doesn't matter which group I pick..maybe the one with the most need...I'll just read up on them first...
and I'll await your answer....as the "lesson learned" is important to me..
One of my daughter's friends had cancer and her mom was the one who put me in touch with the organisation. There are many groups but this one was one of the few at the time who focused on children. I am still thinking about your other query and will answer it soon. Have a safe and great rest of the weekend.....:)

and so articulately put...
I do wonder if we have control of the feeling A....to not allow ourselves to be open or surrender to it when it's not mutual or beneficial? or why we're closed to it when the other does have A towards us? And how important really is A when it's one-sided...I gather is quite useless..
I don't think we can control the feeling per se but I do think that we can control our reaction that accompanies it.

We are creatures of habit after all, so in my opinion if you make up your mind that despite being in love you can still move on you can . Will you feel the same? most likely but the power of the mind is quite complex and beyond comprehension. I still hold the notion that one can be in love and choose to leave and time can definitely heal.

To answer your other question. I think we don't have control to be open but we do have control if we choose to surrender ( I am not sure if that makes sense) what tends to happen is that when we are in that Trance of being in love I think it sort of corrupts reality perhaps briefly and that " suppose" bad boy is not so bad.. but instead someone that can be molded. This is what can get us into big trouble. Again, in my honest opinion yes we cannot always control our feelings for someone but we don't have to be reactive to them and that's our power.

Florals are also a big trend this spring but it's usually the case but this time it's floral print everywhere lol. I am not use to wearing pastel colors I do love pink though.

I hate the idea of spending a lot of money on fancy skin care products so I use natural products and LOVE the following combination:

1. Baking Soda-mix it with water to make a paste and wear it as a mask. It helps reduce the size of pores and dries up acne.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar-use it as a toner (but I'm hard core and don't dilute it with water but if your skin is sensitive try diluting it). It balances out your skin's PH.

3. Raw African Shea Butter-I use it as a moisturizer. I just wipe off the excess with a paper towel. It's also good for combatting acne.

I understand I purchase skin care products but I also love natural face masks.
This is great, I need to try this. Thanks for sharing. Hey, did you find a long lasting lipstick? I know we discussed it awhile back.
