It would help if AAM Googled "attention seeking disorders".

I'm a college teacher and black women are seeking higher education. The only black males I see are in remedial classes for a financial aid check, and still trying to look cool like they are 9th graders, and holding the rest of the class back. Black males live their entire life with the mind of a child. Black women do seem to be trying to better themselves. If they want to date white men great for them.

What I don't get is...if BM have a problem with us saying that lack of education is why we don't want you, why not get educated? Then we won't have anything to complain about.

You all sound so ignorant when THAT'S your complaint.

"Man, that uppity woman expects me to KNOW stuff!"

Seriously, you guys? You don't want to do better? SMH

What's worse is that they look down on bm while their black daddies are paying their college bills, they're not even working to pay it or going to a community college. They're like the spoiled teens you see on sitcoms only evil.

My goodness, you guys are SO bitter!

Black women who say that want Black men who are more educated and therefore more stable in life. I don't want to have kids who will be raised in the cesspool that is the American ghetto, and I don't want to struggle in poverty so much. Having an education is just more security in life. Black women feel that if they are getting an education, then Black men should too.

I've never heard of any Black female who gets a degree and avoids all Black men and only wants a White guy, and I went to college, trust me, most Black females in college want Black or other types of "ethnic" men.

No I don't think they really mean that OUR education is why we're saying we won't date BM. I think it's that we off outrank them in education.

But that's not even always the case. Is my current guy a BM? No. Would I date one if I was single and an educated one was interested in me? Yes. For me it all has to do with personality, interests, and yes, education level.

But I stand by my words. If it bothers you, stop complaining and catch up.

Another generalization. My father hasn't contributed a DIME to my education, even though I've been in private school since I was 8. I started at a community college and transferred to a state school. I work summers to contribute to buying my books.

Stop talking about what you don't know.

You probably are/were living with him rent and food free. That's a big contribution.

It's because these people hate us african american women regardless. They will continue to inform everyone of their negative preconceived notions of us.

Nope. Always lived with my momma. He was a big part of my life and spent a lot of time with me, but most of the brunt was on my momma's back.

Black women should freely apply their metrics however and with whomever they please; I fully support their maximizing their educational opportunities. Because for me personally, such a woman who thinks me beneath HER romantic standards because of some stenciled letters on a piece of paper given to her by a four year brick and mortar institution, despite my demonstrable intelligence is only giving testimony to her intellectual myopia and her lack of understanding of how the world works.

I myself have a college degree but I have never used it. I had some silly notion of being a broadcast journalist before reality started slapping me around. Besides, 99% of your knowledge and accrued wisdom is acquired after you leave college. University is largely a THEORETICAL WORLD, not the REAL WORLD. I however, do understand that (Black) women beyond the job market are SOMEWHAT limited in their wealth creation options, so it's an important metric for them.

HOWEVER, what I don't like is when black women start crying, complaining, cajoling and trying to guilt manipulate black men regarding our metrics....be they physical, age related, financially etc.. This is when black female hypocrisy kicks in. Suddenly after judging us by their rigid, non compromising standards, we start to hear the invocation of words like "TRADITION", "THAT'S WHAT A MAN IS SUPPOSED TO DO", and my favorite "WHITE MEN DO IT FOR THEIR WOMEN."

The implicit suggestion of all of this is that black women are justified and having their individual metrics to weed out the bad from the good, but black men must submit to their traditional roles and parallel the behavior of white men, lest we not be thought of as men. I say that men should have and maintain their metrics and standards just as sisters should; and not feel an obligation, simply because we are men, to relax our metrics in the interest of the greater good, while they maintain theirs in their personal self interest.

Actually my mother makes over 100K a year.

And my father doesn't make as much, so my mother felt bad asking him for money. I was born IN wedlock and my dad is one of my best friends.

So, take your ignorant cracker butt out of here.
