Black mob violence and denial have a new victim: Ray Widstrand of St. Paul, Minn.

Earlier this year, Widstrand, who is white, moved into a black neighborhood. Soon after, he took an evening stroll and met some of his new neighbors.

Proverbs 28:1-28 ESV / 91 helpful votes

The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion. When a land transgresses, it has many rulers, but with a man of understanding and knowledge, its stability will long continue. A poor man who oppresses the poor is a beating rain that leaves no food. Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive against them. Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it completely....

Proverbs 6:12-16 ESV / 69 helpful votes

A worthless person, a wicked man, goes about with crooked speech, winks with his eyes, signals with his feet, points with his finger, with perverted heart devises evil, continually sowing discord; therefore calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be broken beyond healing. There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him:

The first guy deserved the Karma because he did the same thing when he was a kid. That's why he couldn't be mad. What you put out in the universe comes back to you...

The girl was a promiscuous slut. How is she arrested at the airport and ends up in a section of the city where she's not from? Much less thrown out of a 7 story window? She should have taken her money and took a cab ride home instead of trying to be "down".

If a BP, who is out of place, walks through a white neighborhood they are arrested or, like in Trayvon's case, murdered. WP should take the same precautions. Don't be in black neighborhoods where you shouldn't be, looking for trouble because you'll find it OR don't move into a black neighborhood and stroll down the street, looking for trouble, because you'll find it too.

As for the race war comment...guess what, blacks own guns too! Just sayin'

Why must there be Black or White neighborhoods? You sound like you are all for some type of Apartheid. Most of America, outside this forum is not like that.

On the mainland, there are some sections that have predominate neighborhoods like Black, White and Asian (most major cities have some variation of a Chinatown). For those who don't live in a diverse neighborhood, it is a reality to live and remain in areas that make them feel comfortable.

Neigborhoods in the States tend to be more mixed in the suburbans, divisions are based on class. But in the inner cities it is more about race. Yes.

Also I have been to Hawaii and it is very racist. Mostly Asians who don't really like Americans. I saw very few Blacks there. You must fell isolated.

You should move to DC best place for Blacks as far as jobs and standard of living. Plus you will be in Real America!

I grew up in the suburbs on the East Coast so I'm aware of classism and how it affects the neighborhoods. I was fortunately to grow up in a progressive diverse neighborhood that use to be predominantly Irish-American and is currently one of the most diverse city in the state.

I never experienced any racism out here. Yes, Asians do tend to keep to themselves however local Nesians embrace blacks. I don't know what area you visited, probably Waikiki but locals tend to stay away from tourist areas. There are a lot of black military while the black civilians are spread out. I don't feel isolated as I know a lot of blacks (among other races) all throughout the island.

Job market is good and while the cost of living is higher I don't have to worry about violent crimes like I would if I lived in the mainland.

What exactly do you mean I would be in "Real America"? That sounds pretty ignorant as we have everything that I can get in the mainland. No one lives in grass huts or walks around with coconut bras...so I'm not sure what (in your mind) constitutes a real America vs a fake one.

I drove around the island of Oahu. I didn't see many Americans except for the Honolulu area especially Waikiki, and Kailua. Most of the rest were Filipinos and other Asians and many Japanese tourists. When I tried to ask Asians for directions they would often pretend that they didn't hear me etc. I didn't see many Blacks at all but then I din't go on any bases. What are Nesians?

The cost of lving of there was horrendous. A small rinky dink house that would go for like $100,000 here is close to $300,000 over there. I was told that you have many families living in a single house jsut to make eneds meet.

As a general rule in the states when you live in a decent neighborhood crime rates are low. So I don't think that is a real issue to contemplate when choosing to live on the mainland unless you expect to be living in the hood.

I said Real America, because Hawaii to me pretty much felt like a foreign country. Don't get me wrong I liked it, it's very pretty but with all the Asians and the culture and food which caters to them, stuff like spam musabi everywhere, poi, and Mcdonald's serving rice and stuff. LOl! I would feel homesick living there. If I wanted to live in similar tropical place, I could live in South Florida. The Kailua area felt the most like being in the states.
If I visit again I will definitely try to go to Maui.

On a side note, why do so many people drive mustangs on the island? I never seen so many mustangs in my life. Lol!

The Holocaust (from the Greek ὁλ&#972 ;κα&#965 ;στ&#959 ;ς holókaustos: hólos, "whole" and kaustós, "burnt")[2] also known as Shoah (Hebrew: הש&#14 93;אה, HaShoah, "the catastrophe"; Yiddish: חו&#15 12;בן, Churben or Hurban, from the Hebrew for "destruction"), was the mass murder or genocide of approximately six million Jews during World War II, a programme of systematic state-sponsored murder by Nazi Germany, led by Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party, throughout the German Reich and German-occupied territories.[3]

Of the nine million Jews who had resided in Europe before the Holocaust, approximately two-thirds were killed.[4] Over one million Jewish children were killed in the Holocaust, as were approximately two million Jewish women and three million Jewish men.[5] A network of over 40,000 facilities in Germany and German-occupied territory were used to concentrate, hold, and kill Jews and other victims.[6]

Some scholars argue that the mass murder of the Romani and people with disabilities should be included in the definition,[7] and some use the common noun "holocaust" to describe other Nazi mass murders, including those of Soviet prisoners of war, Polish and Soviet civilians, and homosexuals.[8][9] Recent estimates, based on figures obtained since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1989, indicate some ten to eleven million civilians (mostly Slavs) and prisoners of war were intentionally murdered by the Nazi regime.[10][11]

The persecution and genocide were carried out in stages. Various laws to exclude the Jews from civil society, most prominently the Nuremberg Laws of 1935, were enacted in Germany before the outbreak of World War II in Europe. Concentration camps were established in which inmates were subjected to slave labor until they died of exhaustion or disease. Where Germany conquered new territory in eastern Europe, specialized paramilitary units called Einsatzgruppen murdered more than a million Jews and political opponents in mass shootings.

The occupiers required Jews and Romani to be confined in overcrowded ghettos before being transported by freight train to extermination camps where, if they survived the journey, most were systematically killed in gas chambers. Every arm of Germany's bureaucracy was involved in the logistics that led to the genocides, turning the Third Reich into what one Holocaust scholar has called "a genocidal state

That's strange that you drove around the entire island but only saw Filipinos and Asians (???). The majority of Japanese are tourist and tend to stay in the Waikiki area. Anyone outside of that is pretty much an American citizen.

Nesians is short for Polynesians (Hawaiian, Samoan, Tongans, Fijians, etc.).

The housing part is true because we are only an island with limited space it costs more than the mainland. However, our (violent) crime rate is significantly lower than on the mainland. We only get property damages, rarely any violent crimes like murder, rape, kidnapping, hate crimes, etc. If you look at a newspaper out here vs one from the mainland you'll see a difference in the headlines.

If Kailua felt the most like the states, I would guess that you didn't travel that far like the Windward, Leeward or North Shore areas...IMO.

Yes, there is a fusion with Asian cuisine but it's not like a foreign language is the main language, driving on the left side or foreign currency is needed.

Yes, you could live in Florida but it's much colder than it is here.

If you go to Maui make sure you bring plenty of money as that's the most expensive island. Each island has a different feeling and Honolulu, Oahu is the only one that feels like a major city. All the other are country, touristy types.

As for you only seeing mustangs, you must have only been in Waikiki because that's what rental companies rent out. I see a lot of BMW, Lexis, Mercedes, Hummers as well as Asian brands like Honda, Nissan and American brands like Chevrolet, Fords and Jeeps...but I have been here much longer than you.

I wouldn't say I only saw Filipinos etc but Asians did seem to make up the majority in most places. I did go to the North Shore to check out Pipeline etc. But Kailua definitely had the most Americans, and some nice houses too. I was suprised to find out that the actual Hawaiians were only a small minority on the Island.

I did live in Miami. The tropical flora is very similar, Miami Beach is also blue like Hawaii but it only got cold down to like 40 at night for about two weeks in the winter. There were some days it would be in the lower 60's but usually it would be around 70 or more and from April to October it's usually in the 80's or hotter. Northern Florida is different.

Yeah I need plenty of money to go to Hawaii period. But I think I would prefer Maui since it's more idyllic. We'll see.

By the way you are a very civil and obviously intelligent poster. Not so common on here anymore. Nice talking with you.

I got you...I was thinking you said Kalihi...LOL. Yeah, Kailua is on the Windward side and it has very nice houses and beaches but they'll cost you. Hawaiians are, unfortunately, a dying race as the younger generation tend to mix with other races and lose their heritage. Molokai (in Maui county) is where you'll find the highest populations of Hawaiian.

I've been to Florida several times during the summer and a couple of times during the winter (January) and the winters were COLD. But I have to admit since I live out here anything below 78 degrees gives me chicken skin (aka goose bumps). We rarely dip below 60 degrees and if we do it's during the evening. We pretty much keep a range from low 80's-90's all year round.

Nice talking with you as well.
