My wife is Cuban and I went through the same thing when I got married. My wife's father said "if you mary him your child will be BLACK!" like being black is a disease, the latin culture ain't all its cracked up to be. Sista's are looking real good right about now!

Yeah I read that article too, I was surprised. I remember seeing Andy Garcia on Whoopi Goldberg's talk show years ago. He talked about how in Cuba some members of the family are lighter skinned and thers dark like Whoopi. He said his aunt looked like Whoopi.

So it surprised me when the Rock said that about his future in-laws. They changed their tune real fast when he started making that money though I bet.

He and Dani are divorcing now, I wonder if their problems stemmed from her family. Peopel can be so stupid.

Even his grandparents on his mother's side had issues when his mom married his dad. But he said by the time he came along his grandfather was over it. The Rock also said that he almost choked a woman out when he overheard her calling his father the N-word at a family party. And that his parents sent him away to go to college out of state.

There's some latinos who are very accepting of blacks. Then there's some latinos who despise blacks 100%.

The slaves were oppressed but became free. Oppression stops nothing. Let us deal with the underlying fear of another skin color and then we can find away to exist as brother and sisters and love everybody.

I think racism is alive and well, and this is an unfortunate example. I think most people have issues accepting that love doesn't always come in the same color!

There are some Black Cubans. But one may question what the relations were like between Black and white Cubans in Cuba.

Well yes, many nonblack people do not want to see their daughters with black men. Sometimes when he is rich they are most accepting of it. The rock is half white and looks it too so i don't know why those spanish people wouldn't like him. He's probably the same complexion as them. Well for many of years Latinos and Blacks have rarely got along with each other male and female; and most relationships with Blacks and Latinos I've seen don't work and last very long based on a heavy influence from the outside.

You may teach your daughters to do that,but I gaurantee you that one of them will "disappoint" you.I've seen it too many times.The race that the mom or dad hates the most will be the race your daughter/son will bring home.

Black people call others racists because black desire to assimilate into other ethnic groups and don't understand why others do not want to wash out who they are because of pride. Black people (NOT ALL) have long lost the feeling of being Black & proud, so it's a foreign concept to many of us. When other racial groups show that pride we love to assume it is racism. We are the only race who don't understand "the law of science": to keep our race intact in order to prosper and move forward.
