Cosmos: a Spacetime Odyssey

I watched this episode... Somewhere about 17-20 minutes into the show, Neil de Grasse Tyson says in the year 1599, "everybody" knew that the planets revolved around the Sun.

Well explain why the ancient Egyptians & Aztecs built Pyramids and other structures to represent planets of their respective orbits from looking from above, long before Galileo?

How could Neil, as supposedly intelligent as he is, miss out on this?

"Foot shuffling" for white folks anyone?

On last night's show he spoke about polar bear's mutating from the brown grizzly bear, this same rule applies to humans.

Jerry Jeremiah Desravines The show was more European supremacy at it's best... the show totally dismissed the ancient contributions of the Egyptians, Mayans and Asians to the understanding of space and the planets.

Jerry Jeremiah Desravines Hilarious... You must have not watched the show or don't know history enough... Or both. The show addresses different parts of science each episode, that was the episode for astronomy, so to not mention the Ancient contributors, is something to be noted.

Black FarRock yep...well the first episode, as the initial one, should accurately cite the ancient facts...

Black FarRock as we know Jerry, there are always Black apologists for white supremacy......

Jerry Jeremiah Desravines The psychological effects of slavery, Jim Crow and Redlining are still felt today.

Akoon Tong Ancient Aliens is the one bias towards Africans, the cosmos does have a history of being on T.V but the new one is much more interesting.

Bullschitt!!

Nowhere do either the Aztecs or the Egyptians mention heliocentric orbits in scripture or pyramids.

The Egyptians, you idiotic fool, believed that the Sun went around the Earth - it is the basic foundation of Egyptian mythology, they thought the Sacred Scarab pushed the Sun round the sky, and they feared the night, in case the Sun didn't rise again, they had a ceremony everyday where the priests and the Pharaoh would play out rites to encourage the Sun to arrive again at dawn.

Are you seriously saying that a people who believed that the Sun was pushed around by a beetle, knew the planets orbited the Sun?

GTFOOH

No wonder the rest of the world laughs at you...

Actually, our earliest ancestors had pink skin, look under your nails, what color is the skin?

That is proof that melanin enriched skin is a mutation from pink skin.

Been nice educating you.
