You forgot ugly people...they don't do as well either. Or the disabled. Sure there are the rare stories, but usually the people that go to the top are attractive and white, male or female.

Is America racist? Some people think it is of the past. I dont think so. Let us take the example of skilled immigrants (h1Bs) as we call them. Of the 65,000 work visas, 35,000 go to IT people, who are mostly from Asia while the other 30,000 go to other professions. About 7,000 of the 30,000 go to Hollywood to bring in actors from abroad. Today's Washington examiner has a story on these actors..most of them are from the UK and most of them are white. However, while we hear complaints about the computer programmers taking jobs from Americans, no one talks about the fact that white foreigners are being hired at the expense of minorities and even whites here in Amrica. There are a lot more unemployed actors than computer professionals in the US. In particular, Asian American men are lacking in movies, sitcoms, etc...yet no one makes any noise of foreigners being hired. Why? Because in the film industry the foreigners coming in happen to be white, and in the computer industry they happen to be, well, for a lack of better term, non-white. Racism is alive and well in America. Any questions?
Not really. I'm just impressed that your various decks of race cards come with all that trivia printed on them. Actors/sitcoms? Man get a life!

Racism exists. It is evident through all of the responses on this article. Anyone who denies this is completely blind, deaf, and dumb. The fact that as a country we still have affirm action programs designed to "help" minorities excel, proves that there is still a serious racial problem in this "Land of the Free". For those who deny it, get it together and do not comment on something that you do not understand. Read "White Privilege" by Peggy McIntosh, and get your heads out of the sand. Stop pretending like Black people have not received the lowest end of the totem poles for years. Remember the institution of slavery folks? Those mindsets, prejudices, and societal practices still persist. Get some knowledge.

Discrimination is only a roadblock if you let be. This is an evil society. Everyone hates everyone. Skin color stopped being the main issue decades ago. People smash their own friends and family for material gain, and that is not likely to get better anytime soon. Long gone are the days where hard work made a person feel good. Now it just leads to complianing and whining that their neighbor doesn't have to work that hard. Women and men should just do their best and be proud of their efforts. Give it your all and you will look back and be proud of yourself. Don't complain about outside barriers holding you back, because that is just pathetic and a sign of modern societal decay. Grow up and be accountable.

You are so true!!! I have heard that on every interview, especially when white women are the interviewer, "Why don't go into modeling?" "Why do you want to be here in Marketing" "You should be in fashion" It makes me so mad that they think a beautiful black women should just be for eye candy! I shoot back those industries do not have the level of professionalism and integrity that I am looking to make a career out of! It is double hard for beautiful black women, you have to work a millions time harder to prove to "these" people that yes I am intelligent, friendly and beautiful.
I think the same could be said regarding any beautiful woman, black or white. I've told some of the women I know that they could/should be models, and I meant it only as a compliment. However, I suppose it would be annoying if you heard it all the time, instead of remarks about your skill or intelligence.

Duly noted.
