As much as Black British street/gangster types copy their black American counterparts I must say they never, ever copied the whole wearing XXL clothing, Do-rag and timberland boots. New Era caps yes along with snapbacks are very common among these types though. I own some myself, I'm guilty :).

Also going down on a woman is a taboo to them, raping other guys in prison is a definite no no and our prison groups are not race based.

Hope I'm not stereotyping then again we're talking about the vile aspects of each group.

Plus nobody eats ''soul food'' period.

American Ebonics has been incorporated along with Jamaican patois (dominant feature), cockney (English), west African pidgin, south Asian languages, some Arabic and eastern European accents at times. They call it ''Multicultural London English''.

If I typed in such a manner it would almost be like another language.

But I stress that these guys essentially worship American gangsta rap mainly underground ones as opposed to 50 cent and those other commercial types.

Also question to black Americans, why do we have such little interest in other groups of blacks when most of them look to us for culture, men and women to Merge with..etc?[/QUOTE]
Personally I have nothing in common with them; therefore I have no desire to forge relationships with them. I view them as being arrogant and that is a characteristic that I dislike. There are other things that turn me off but I will say no more.To be honest I am more interested in AA and other non-black groups.

You need to analyze this more. AA culture is not dominant over other black cultures. You know why ?
Because the only aspects of AA culture that really influence other blacks are the aspects that make MONEY.
AA music like soul, gospel, r&b, hip hop & jazz have influenced others. But ask the average Caribbean person what is zydeco ? Ask them what is go-go ? Ask them what is Baltimore club music ? They don't have a clue. Because these are AA music that are not mainstream and don't generate millions of dollars.
Or take AA food. That is not dominant from what I've seen. I've never had grits before. I've never had chitlins before. I've only had collard greens in the U.S. Only ever had cornbread in the U.S. And, fried chicken is extremely rare in my house. I grew up on stew chicken, dumplings, saltfish, plantain, fungee, ducana, choba, pepperpot, etc...
What about AA art, AA community values or even AA education. When I'm in the islands, no one talks about these.
These are all parts of AA culture but many are not exposed to them because they don't make money for the entertainment industry. Why do you think people come to the U.S. with all these idiotic stereotypes about AAs thinking that all AAs know how to do is rap, dance, sell drugs and play basketball but otherwise, they are lazy and useless. If AA culture was really that dominant, these stereotypes in other black nations would be dead because people would know that AA culture has so many elements to it.
if all aspects of aa culture dominated as much as hip hop then you could argue that aa culture wasn't just dominant over other black groups, but over all groups - that's why i listed other cultures like islam, that are the most dominant.

i can only think of reggae as the only element of non-aa black culture with worldwide impact. but even reggae was influence by and is an adaptation of R&B.

i don't know how anyone can honestly deny the massive impact aa culture has had around the world. this goes all the way back to the blues/jazz/swing craze starting in the 20s that went global after aa jazz artist toured europe asia and latin america.

blues, jazz, original rock, hard rock, r+b, soul, disco, house, techno, funk, and hip hop, swing, the hustle, and break dancing, either fully or partially (original rock, break dancing, and hip hop) came outta the aa community. and enjoy global appeal.

these generate money cuz of their popularity.

other than reggae i can't think of anything coming outta another black group that enjoys international popularity, or influences cultures beyond their own.

just to drive home this point. in the 30s hitler made it illegal for german jazz artist to swing thier bodies and mimic other gestures similar to aa, when they performed.

aa may have their problems, but i don't think it can be denied that the vast majority of what the world has seen for bout 100 years, that represents 'black excellence' has come outta the aa community.

TRUE! The key is using ur own ideas while also adopting a few elements to reach a wider audience. This is something AA's have been able to do successfully & also why AA artists are usually more successful because they know how to appeal to the masses. This is something many non-AAs haven't been able to do with their own genres except for Jamaican artists such as Bob Marley.

aa are just massively iconic. at one time muhammad ali was the most recognized face in the world, for example.

can we agree that no other black group has done more to elevate the image of the black race, like aa.

and musically, aa are just ridiculous. they even establishing a national museum honoring the aa's phenomenal contribution in this area:
http://nmaam.com/

"As the only museum dedicated to all dimensions of African American music, The National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) will showcase the 48 music genres created or impacted by African Americans, honor the legacy and legends of this diverse music and detail the impact this music has on musicians and consumers around the world."

*48 music genres created or impacted by african americans*

48!

Thanks for the link. It's wonderful we have a museum honoring AA artists & many other talents we have had in our communities. I agree about Muhammad Ali, he's defiantly a legend like many other AA athletes. I also agree that many Black icons have came out the AA community from the civil rights movement, entertainment, modern inventions and sports.

Exactly with the gigantic American media behind you, it is not hard to popular. People really wants to come to America and copy American styles, not aa. If aa had their own country and their own media then they would be just like other country not name america or England.
China had some of the best athletes in the Olympics but who will be able to name at Least one Chinese athlete but I bet people will be able to name lots of American athletes.
In africa, the Jamaican culture is much admired than AA. Reggae is the most popular and influential Music in africa. Jamaicans at two million, have world Wide influence than AA. Being a third world and all. AA are influential by default because the US happens to the most powerful and influential country in world. Any shit coming out of american is popular. You package american fetes and it will sell world wide, except africa. LOL!

Obviously Black Americans are the worldwide dominant black culture.
Just curious as to the populations of all the black cultures and the ones that are larger than black Americans.
Large groups of blacks from other cultures even with to merge into our culture.
Our women are the most beautiful of all black women as well, and our men are the strongest.
Also question to black Americans, why do we have such little interest in other groups of blacks when most of them look to us for culture, men and women to Merge with..etc?
And final question to black Americans, do you consider a relationship with a black person that is not black American an ir relationship?
Good topic and a nice departure from the usuall bs IRBW stupidness...I think nigeria has the largest black population in the world. 1/4 of all blacks are nigerian from what i read. there are also more black brazilians than african americans...according to wikipedia, ethiopia, tanzania, congo, kenya and possibly south africa also have a larger black population than in the US. So, there's a lotta great african genes out there.

i don't know if i agree with you that there's a difference between the physical strength of bm in the US and those of other countries...just look at the olympics, which is a global competition. jamaicans dominated the male and female sprints. As far as looks, we may have the best looking women, but i've seen a lotta women from all over africa and the caribbean that are incredibly beautiful...just as beautiful as african women.

We are all genetically pretty much the same, so I would consider marriage between an aa and an african or caribbean to be inter-cultural rather than interracial.
