Not really. There is a muslim problem in France as well. The French need to fix that first before they follow the orders of those who rule over them... But I'm pretty sure that would be considered an ''intolerant'' thing to do. So all of a sudden the story changes. Strange, don't you think?
Talking about the Islamic extremist problem in your own country is bad, but you can become a hero when you condemn Islam's actions somewhere abroad.

Ma'am,
there are 2 big flaws in this analysis :
1) the USA have blocked all efforts to free Northern Mali and there is no support for the French intervention by the Department of State and Pentagon so far
2) Mr Glen Ford is talking about "Tuaregs" who have been wiped off by Islamists before last Summer.
Invaders are marginally Malian Tuaregs but mostly Libyans.
Finally i am always surprised to see an AA supporting the oppression of Black Malians by white so-called "Tuaregs" who were traditionally responsible for enslaving Sub Saharan Blacks ; invaders who are/were maiming/starving Black people in Gao, Timbuktu, Kidal etc.
Mr Ford should have a look on these videos (re Youtube, Dailymotion).
What is his proposal to free Northern Mali ? His paper is void of any alternative solution to free these Black (mostly) populations from the invaders.
When you reject a solution okay if you have sound reasons ; but Mr Ford should make public his own solutions and how they can be implemented quickly. Here he only seems to endorse the oppression of Blacks in Northern Mali without offering anything to deal with the problem. It doesn't seem very logical.

Frenchy, you talk a lot rubbish. Tuaregs are not white for starters. They are a mulatto people. You make it look like arabs from the middle east have invaded an African country. Most of the islamists are dark skinned. Even if they are mostly Libyans, they are not white Libyans. Southern Southern north africa is occupied by mulatto tuareg. I would not be surprised if most of most of the foot soldiers are fulani. Fulanis have always acted as attack dog for tuareg. There barer not white people fighting in Mali. The leadership could be NA, though.

Am disappointed with ECOWAS for lacking the balls to go in and drive the tuaregs back to north africa where they belong.

The terrorists in northern Mali are indeed foreigners, many of them veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq. They are Arabs mostly. This is simply a continuation of centuries of Arab interference in Africa.

The Tuaregs as well as the Fulani have been puppets of the Arabs and of Islam. There is the root of the problem---a certain schizophrenic hallucinating in a cave outside of Mecca 14 centuries ago.

Most of the Islamists are dark skinned ?

You should pay a visit to an optometrist i feel you've some medical problem in your eyes. Videos on Youtube and Dailymotion are showing mostly light-skinned, Arabic speaking guys doing the chop off and whipping people (100% Black).

The MUJAO is indeed mostly made out of Black people but not AQMI and Ansar Dine. Tuaregs could often pass for Italians and Spaniards in term of skin complexion : barely light brown.

Once again the major Tuareg movement has been wiped away : MLNA was defeated soundly by the others and took refuge in Algeria where they came from and were provided weapons.

In Northern Mali, "Tuaregs" are a small minority of the population : there are several people residing there.

Finally it's interesting to know that the US network of AFRICOM established over 10 years ago was very strong in ... Mali and Captain Sanogo is a feud of the USA. Moreover the US army and air forces have "secret" bases in ... the South of Algeria and were supporting until the last raid the dubious Algerian position of giving a green light to Islamists in Northern Mali.

It's not only Cédéao/Ecowas weakness to move a finger but also the weird American foreign policy in this region with a forked tongue : "fighting" Islamists in words, secretly helping them on the ground.

At least Cédéao/Ecowas is waking up now that France has got the guts to move in (not the pitiful and grotesque E.U, in particular Merkel and Cameron) and the first troops have arrived in Mali : cheers to little and brave Togo and Chad who are the first to come to rescue leading the way to other Cédéao countries. It is expected now that 5000 African troops will be sent in Mali.

You mean I can not tell the difference between African tuareg mulattos and Arabs? You are trying to portray Africans vas some weak people who are being terrorist by the big bad caucaian arabs. Not! You can not lerave arabia and afganstan to start war thousand of miles away in Africa. I believe the tuareg leadership may have been hijacked by alqaida but the foot soldier are tuareg from Mali, Algeria and Libya.
Actually the "tuareg" rebellion in Mali today is a US and Algeria creation to open Africa for Africom to sett a foot hold in Africa. Go read article in New Africa- december issue and learn a thing or two. The US is looking for ways to set enter Africa.
The article is taken from a book or article written by Jeremy Keenan. He is a British social anthropologist. He is a professor at the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London.
Also the Malian govt, Niger and Algeria compired to provoke the tuareg to rebel at the request of the US govt. Arms flow from Libya is just icing on the cake.
Here is the link to the article:
http://www.newint.org/features/2012/12/01/us -...
"My first book on the Global War On Terror in the Sahara, The Dark Sahara (Pluto 2009), described and explained the development of this extraordinary relationship. It revealed why it was that the Bush administration and the regime in Algiers both needed a ‘little more terrorism’ in the region. The Algerians wanted more terrorism to legitimize their need for more high-tech and up-to-date weaponry. The Bush administration, meanwhile, saw the development of such terrorism as providing the justification for launching a new Saharan front in the Global War On Terror. Such a ‘second front’ would legitimize America’s increased militarization of Africa so as better to secure the continent’s natural resources, notably oil. This, in turn, was soon to lead to the creation in 2008 of a new US combat command for Africa – AFRICOM.
The first US-Algerian ‘false flag’ terrorist operation in the Sahara-Sahel was undertaken in 2003 when a group led by an ‘infiltrated’ DRS agent, Amari Saifi (aka Abderrazak Lamari and ‘El Para’), took 32 European tourists hostage in the Algerian Sahara. The Bush administration immediately branded El Para as ‘Osama bin Laden’s man in the Sahara’."
"In order to justify or increase what I have called their ‘terrorism rents’ from Washington, the governments of Mali, Niger and Algeria have been responsible on at least five occasions since 2004 for provoking Tuareg into taking up arms, as in 2004 (Niger), 2005 (Tamanrasset, Algeria), 2006 (Mali), 2007-09 (Niger and Mali). In July 2005, for example, Tuareg youths rioted in the southern Algerian city of Tamanrasset, setting ablaze some 40 government and commercial buildings. It was finally proven in court that the riots and arson attacks had been led by Algeria’s police as agents provocateurs. The matter was hushed up and some 80 youths freed and compensated."

Sir,

the sentence of Emperorjohn doesn't make sense : the Titanic is more likely the US foreign policy of the Clintons and W kept by Obama.
AFRICOM is today a complete failure and it's 100% American.

Being obsessed by supporting the so-called state of Israël made the US foreign policy blind and deaf on many other regions.

Konna city is now free and back under Malian army control with the French help.

Cédéao/Ecowas African troops are landing more and more in Southern Mali to contribute to the liberation of Mali. Even Algeria is now aware that her previous policy of free pass for Islamist militia was a damn wrong policy. A policy supported by ... Mrs Clueless Clinton.

If this liberation operation is not a success, the Titanic will be the whole Ecowas/Cédéao region so everybody can pray for a success.

This French Nazi can't resist dragging Israel into it. So-called state? The only democracy in the region? The most advanced nation with better human rights than any of its neighbors? But it's not legitimate and Syria Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon are?
