There is no Grimaldi. All remains formerly thought to be Grimaldi are Cro-Magnon, within the variation of Cro-Magnon, though that isn't really a type, a solid category.Well, whether or not the Khoisan were at Tassili, I am very interested to learn that they were at Taforalt, as it's almost in Europe.
Of course 85,000 ybp is a long time before 40,000 ybp (the age of the Grimaldi skeletons and of the earliest cave art in France). But the Grimaldi skeletons are unusually small boned, with sharply angled jawbones. Does anyone know more about these skeletons?
Cro Magnons may have learned painting from the Grimaldi people. Just guessing, and hoping someone can confirm.
In any case, after 30,000 bp the only people in the Maghreb were Cro-Magnon, Eurasians, as in Europe.
