It happened two blocks from where I was born and raised. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I read about it.

The area is on the edge of Spanish Harlem. No whites have lived there for years. The cops are totally disconnected from the neighborhood and have done a lot of stupid things before.

I don't think it was stupid. I think it reveals a barbaric mindset. Based on the story, there seemed to be no reason for cops to be shooting in the first place. It was, after all, a neighborhood. It's an outrage, no more outrageous than had the victim been a young boy as occurred in Oakland's BART station.

I know what you mean...if there is gonna be some killin..it should be done by the residents of that hood or a drive bye......disrepectful police tryin to lay down the law....it's the wild west up in this piece.

I was taught this a long time ago:

that the day is gonna come where a black officer and a white officer will be partners... the white officer will tell the the black officer to drive and then the white officer will pull out his gun and shoot the black officer in the side of the head.

although the incident reported in the story is not as that... it still shows that the hatred that white people have for black people... in uniform or out of uniform.

don't trust the devil especially if they carry guns...

Therefore, your sentence should have read like this: When you are an African in America cop in a troubled neighborhood, a place like parts of New York City, the reality is other so-called cops are not going to distinguished you from potential assailants because they are blinded by ignorance. The question is, what was a white cop doing in a black hood? Everyone knows thats whites dont do so good in black areas, especialy cops. No one knows what happened, I seriously doubt it was racism.

First, Caucasian Americans patrol all communities. Second, I never used the term racism - I said ignorance. However, if you seriously doubt it was racism, what was it justice?

If you go that far, go far enough to cook the person on a barbecue so the neighbors can eat well. Let the neighbors eat GOOD in the neighborHOOD. Something else for you here!
