When I first heard about the plane "vanishing," I was suspicious that this might be an inside job that might be part of Muslim extremism, since the flight came out of Malaysia.

Planes don't just vanish, unless they are blown up in midair, and clearly that did not happen here.

Then what looks like the Malaysian government stonewalling the investigation, wasting days on end, that diverted the search, would have given the plane a chance to land in an extremist friendly country.

I was also surprised by the simple ON/OFF switch to turn off the transponder that makes the plane visible to radar.

I suspect that after this event, other than "pings" that bounce off satellites, aviation safety will have better methods of tracking planes, in the event that the transponder is disabled or tampered with.

No one can know for sure, but I do think it was a hijacking. All I know is something didn't go right because why would some passengers steal Europeans passports? The plane is probably somewhere in the Eurasian area.

I hope I am wrong, and they will be released soon. The whole thing is so tragic.

Who knew it could be so easy to "vanish" after 09/11?

I wonder if they would have ran the stolen passports through Interpol, if the passports said Iran?

No one knows what really happened.

And now we have that backwards azz country Thailand, saying they detected something earlier, but didn't say anything because "no one asked them".

This story keeps getting worse and worse!

True. Like the Titanic, it may take about 10 years or so to find this ship.

I can't even imagine the anguish of the families of the passengers involved. And then to have all the conflicting information on top of that.

That, to me, is the worst part of this whole mystery. News station upon news station speculating 24/7 since it happened with utter disregard for the feelings of the families and friends of the missing passengers. Shameful, imho.....smh.....

The news is always trying to get that exclusive, without any real investigation into facts.
And we see over and over again, how the media is just chasing their tails.

If I had a loved one on that plane, I imagine I would have a fire of emotions from anger to sadness to being vigilant about what happened. A plane just doesn't go missing out of the thin air and being that these two were experienced pilots, something was put into action to divert this plane away from where it was going. I even heard on the news that the plane was going everywhere just circling the same spots as if the one controlling it wanted to go somewhere else to keep these passengers are captives but wasn't sure where to go.

US Intelligence probably knows a lot more than we are being led to believe. Already Israel is preparing itself against an possible strike.

The plane is probably in northern Pakistan somehwere.

It is does seem to fit the "take the plane to use it as a missile" theory.

And we know that 09/11 craziness was going to happen again sometime. Israel would be a target that they probably are salivating over.

In this day and age it has to be the radicalized pilots being used for these jihad missions. We know the other passengers are not going to be taken as hostages, with box cutters, without a fight after 09/11. Passengers wouldn't stand for it, as we saw with the shoe bomber and underwear boy.

Now there are reports the Captain's wife moved out before this happened, and that he was upset about politics in his country.

Or malaysian military knew it was hijacked and decided to shoot it down. And are now covering their tracks. It could have been a simple mechanical malfunction.Planes flying below 5000 feet aren't picked up by radar.

We know it wasn't a "hijacking".

"the plane’s disappearance was “deliberate” and evidence emerged that it appeared to have flown for seven hours after its radar transponder and satellite uplink went dead, apparently turned off by someone in the cockpit."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/jet-was-h...

This is an "inside" job by the jihadist pilots.

NoMo, your stupid names and proxy servers will never conceal your abject ignorance. The transponder was TURNED OFF, they weren't flying below 5000 feet.
