I don't understand why Black women want White hair styles. Can someone explain this? I love naturals and fros on Black women.

It confuses me as well because I notice that black women will conform to the european standard of hair and will do everything they can to have straight hair. But when it comes to weight the bw refuses to get with the program even if obesity is killing them.

Because that's what men like. How many men do you know love naturals on BW? Not much (not even bm). Dudes like long, soft, smooth, hair and in order for my black chicas to compete, they do what they have to.

Im a young Black Woman and my hair is completley natural. I love my hair because it is a part of my identity.. I NEVER Euro-Up my hair because thats just my own personal judgement. I believe that all women have the right too wear their hair the way they please..when you start paying for a womans hair appointments then you can put your foot down as to how it should be done up otherwise just keep that pondering question to yourself... ;) (just some friendly helpful advice)

Men like women with long hair. The fact is, men define what beauty is in every culture.

black women desire what they can't have , they realize all men love hair like WW,AW,indian women but black women at the end of the day don;t realize what ever they do to their hair it's still black hair.

It's pretty sad cause even when BW straighten their hair it looks fake , they wont let a man run his hands through it, they won't go swimming ,stinks like strong chemicals, they won't shower without a cap and they won't even sleep with their hair out unless it's under a scarf

So when black women "think" they are competing by getting perms or straighteners or weaves you're really not because of the list above and many other reasons as well when it comes to hair

It's pretty simple if a man dates out he doesn't have to deal with the pyschological problems BW have and a big one included in that is hair

Sorry, but fine Black women look good in an afro or afro-centric styles. Ugly women with long straight hair are still ugly women. It is not necessary for Black women to have straight hair unless they were born with it. If you are a fine Black woman, you are fine, straight hair won't make a difference. If a man is hung up on superficiality, then he isn't worth it. I remember the scene in the movie "Drumline" toward the end of the movie when the band was competing. The girls all had large afros for effect. Those were some fine women. Couldn't keep my eyes off them. No long straight hair was needed.

Not much to say except that real large Afros are the result of long hair;just blow it out and see how long it is. I cut my hair every 3weeks to maintain this natural style.

First, let's get this straight. I am not a White woman. Second, no one was talking to YOU! This was a pretty decent exchange of information until you showed up with your foul mouth. You have nothing to be proud of because you have no manners. Beauty starts from within and you are a bitter nasty uncouth woman from within.

I'm a black woman and my hair is natural. Although I must admitt to native american heritage too so that you will know that my hair may not be classically black but black not the less. My husband is Mexican (white, 6') not that caramel dwarf-like immage in your head Mexican and he loves my hair. They call it Pelo Chino. I wash it daily because I work out and sweat in my head, do not tie it up, use "stiff-stuff" or other harsh chemicals nor do I hesitate to swim. Once when I "blew it out",my husband hated it and told me so immediately and accused me of trying to be like those stupid selfhating Dominicans. I jumped in the shower at the spead of light, let it air dry and never did that agian. He has always had the habit of playing in my hair pulling the curls up and watching them bounce back like springs. It wasn't until that day that I realized how important my natural texture was to him. He later told me that my curls are "wild" and beautiful like me and that's why God gave them to me. I recently got it cut but I asked him first and we picked a nice style;very short in the back but full on top with enough of his beloved curls to keep him happy. I love it. I can towel dry it and don't have to worry about the constant drip that comes from putting wet hair in a pony tail on the fly.

I am very beautiful inside and out lets not get that twisted!!! If anyone is uncouth nasty and bitter inside is you saying what you said!!!! I just get really upset when people diss others not just my race!!! Ignorance upsets me!!! I have plenty manners!!! Just have to work on not letting other's ignorance get to me!!! Since im such a respectable young lady (who just loses my temper sometimes which im sure we all do and i know its you too) im gonna say sorry!!! Just cant stand dumb ignorant things that can hurt someone of any race!!!!!! You cant say you havent lost your temper so calm down!!!!! It happens and doesnt mean they're not respectable nor uncouth!!!! I am well put together!!!!

No I like my own hair, our hair grows long to if you take care it.
Her hair is natural/kinky hair and it's long:

I like straight hair too and all hair types though but I love the hair texture I have naturally. But I'm just speaking for myself.
