Beautiful Black Man
by Victoria Z

Like a lion that stands over his pride
And has dominion over his land
You are fearfully and wonderfully made
Strong Beautiful Black Man

You are a centrifugal and driving force
That draws me deeply into you
You are everything that my heart desires
Your love I could never refuse

Even in those times when it seems
That the world knows not your name
I will always be there to remind you
Of your strength, your pride and your fame

Though most personify fear of you
Because of what they do not know
For it is not what their eyes can see
But rather what their hearts truthfully know

That your abilities are limitless
Your hands can accomplish any task
Even when it seems impossible
You always manage to show contrast

I am only trying to reassure you
That I am the exception to the rule
That I will love you no matter what
Win, draw, or lose

Even when you are feeling
That you have lost your place in this land
Sometimes being portrayed and even told
That you are less than a man

Donít you give in to anger
Please donít hold your head down
Exhibit your strength and your pride
Remember, you wear a crown

Because You are still a King amongst Kings
In my world, you are high in demand
Remember, I do love you no matter what
My Strong Beautiful Black Man!

It seems, Soul Brother, that when one tries to encourage and be positive, particularly on this forum, it's not well received. I don't quite get it. To me, Black Men are some of the most Beautiful and Gorgeous creatures that God made and I celebrate them every chance that I get. Even when things are not looking so great for them, I still encourage them and love them. It saddens me that so many people can't see the forrest for the trees.
I hope this thread will catch on so that Black Men can see that not all sisters/women think lowly of them or don't support them. I have your back 365 + 1!!!

WOW wonderful poem. We need to give this to as many Blackmen as we can they deserve it. Great work and a reprieve from all the black man bashing going on in these threads. Great poem again

I actually have 2 versions of this poem. I wrote a different verions for the men at my church some years ago. I would love to give this to every black man that I know. I was hoping that this forum could be a start. I hate the bashing of black men and women period. It seems no matter what we do, great or small, right or wrong, someone always manages to "try" and put a negative spin on it. I love people period but I am partial to my people. One thing that I have learned is just because we do wrong things or do things wrong, it doesn't mean that I shouldn't love you, it actually means that I need to love you even more. As a nation and particularly as black people, we are so quick to disown one another and kick each other when we are down. I've always heard the saying "if you can look up, then you can get up". While that is very true, I also believe that "if I can look down at you, then I can offer a hand to help pull you up." Call me crazy or whatever but those are wisdoms that I firmly believe in.

Thank you for your encouragement, I appreciate it and you. Have a wonderful day!

Hello My friend, how are you? no matter what, keep writing, and remember that there are those that will try to put you down and not encourage you, but remember what you are doing the poem for, its for enlightenment, its for the edification of all those that wished to be raised with the profile of hope and real happiness, not to brow beat anyone, but to embrace love for all races and how the black man has come through all the struggles and is still here. Don't listen to the negative, keep doing the positive and see the fruits of the peaceful and hopeful words that you have put on paper and remember that there are a lot of people that need reassurance, never forget that there are people that need to see how important they are, through the care of another humans eyes, such as yours. so don't be despondent. Keep writing and know that you have done a great service for all those that benefitted from your wonderful connotation. Take care my friend.

Thank you again, your words are beautiful and very encouraging. And yes, I will continue to write and encourage black men and men in general. You are a refreshing breath of fresh air. I appreciate you very much and God's blessings to you.

I am very excited that this helped you get your day started. That's all that I want to do is encourage brothers and let them know that they are not alone and they are loved no matter what, especially by me. I am going to check out the link. Thanks again and I appreciate you!!!

Good poem. We need more like this on Topix. I'm going to do one about black women. This probably wont get too many hits because it's positive. If it was "BM aint $hit" it would get a lot. Or "Black women are ugly" it would.lol Just take it in stride. Some people just thrive off of negativity. But it doesn't change me. The ignorant BM,BW and white trolls don't bother me. Keep up the good work. Great post!:)

Great..just what we need. A stupid poem for a bunch of rejects leaving you in droves for other races, giving you diseases, don't take care of their/your children, bashes you more than any other man, no ambition, hates you etc.

Well good luck with your life I know the worst is yet to come.

No need to "sigh" or be disheartened. I'm sorry you feel the way you do. Your words do not help anything or anyone. If you believe the drivel that you are writing, then tell God thank you that you are not on the receiving end of the bashing, none ambition and diseases.....you are indeed a joke!!

As far as my life, oh honey, it is beautiful and each day that I Love on my Beautiful Black King (every inch of him from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet), who goes to work every day, takes care of our 2 beautiful children, takes them to and from school, has all the ambition and drive I could ever want, and guess what just so happens, he's my husband....imagine that...we're married!!......oh yeah it gets sweeter each day!

No need to hate baby.....just get on your high horse (or should I say pony) and ride the hell on out of here.

Enjoy your day!
