Humankind introduced sin into the world, because we are blessed with free will. With sin came death, disease, pain, etc. God does not interfere with free will-- would you really want Him to? Would you want to be a "robot" that is programmed to love God and only do as He wishes, without choice? God wants us to love Him and do right because we *want* to love Him and do right, not because he *forced* us to love Him and do right. It's the same with any relationship (such as husband and wife), but on a *much grander scale*.

Concerning the world: with our God-given free will, we could completely change the world around, if everyone implemented their free will towards it.

That won't happen, of course, and God will not force us. Again-- would you really want Him to?

I highly value my free will, and my forgiveness through Jesus' Passion and Sacrifice on the Cross when I fail.

This is how I was raised, and although I've incorporated some other things into my beliefs as I got older, my Roman Catholic upbringing has *always* made sense and comforted me.

I believe that there *must* be more than just us, and I'm not a "fkkinf idiot". I'm a skilled Trauma Center surgeon, fresh out of my residency, and I'm working on a dissertation to attain a Psy.D.

The very breath we breathe he gives it, why you don't question that?
I agree with you.

Isaiah 49:9> Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker, to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter,'What are you making?' Does your work say,'He has no hands'?

Isaiah 29:16> You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay! Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, "He did not make me"? Can the pot say of the potter, "He knows nothing"?

Romans 9:20> But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it,'Why did you make me like this?'

Romans 9:21> Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

1 Corinthians 10:22> Are we trying to arouse the Lord's jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

Job 9:12> If he snatches away, who can stop him? Who can say to him,'What are you doing?'

Isaiah 64:8> Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Your reflection in a mirrior is something you cant explain. The universe is infinite and complex, and yet it is something mankind cant explain and will probably never fully understand. None of this has happend by chance, and there is a higher being who created all that you see, and cant see for a purpose. Mankind isnt above the creator, and will never know all the answers. If believing in God makes me a idiot in your book, then I will gladly be an idiot for God.

God is still pissed that his favorite son Satan still hasn't ask for forgiveness yet, so he's taking his frustration out on mankind. That would explain all the wars, famines, earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons, and negro president.

Man created God, not the other way round.

It is a figment of the mind due to ancient peoples lack of understanding of the brain.

I meditate and for sure you can see, hear and feel 'presence' but it is just an illusion of a stilled mind.

There is as much proof for God as there is the Tooth Fairy and Unicorns, do we have to also accept their existence without physical evidence?

People's first belief was probably animalism and shamanism, then when those spirits didn't appear, they started looking for abstract gods to explain the complexities of life. When those gods failed their people many times, eventually, someone would come up with a single God. That God has also failed all that believed in Him or Her or It.

People thought God or gods was in the trees and earth, we didn't find either. They thought God was in the sky, we been to the Moon and are near the extremes of the Solar System, still no God. So now, He or She or It has become only to exist in some other dimensionality, and that's why It is invisible.

How much will it take to prove to people that their is no God?

It's amusing to see the majority of the world following two main religions, the lie of Christianity and the lie of Islam. Both can't be right, so, if there were a God or Allah, then a billion or so people are in for a nasty time in the hot place lol

Man invented God to help make sense of the world, to let there be a reason for the chaos and nastiness that is life, we needed someone to blame because, deep down, we think there is a reason for everything. There isn't. It also helped comfort people to think someone is with them at times of distress, and, having had psychosis myself, I can well believe that in times of stress people can 'invent' an invisible friend or presence to comfort them, be it the spirit of aunt Cloris, Nan Peters, mom, Glenn Miller or God Himself !!!

I'm not a "nut". I was simply raised in a loving, strict, Catholic household and was sent to Catholic school all the way through to high school, and I see no reason to abandon my beliefs (notice beliefs - plural).

Religious nuts kill people over religion and belief systems. I do the opposite for people. It is unfair of you to call me a "nut".

By the way, I looked up those Scriptures... I don't have them memorized like that.:)

Of course God exists, and suffering is caused by man, not God.

smh.. That should be an easy concept to understand.

Think about it...

You don't believe in God....

So that means all the suffering is obviously the result of MAN.

Suffering is caused by man.... ok, I get that part. What I don't get is why an ALL- POWERFUL God won't just end all the suffering in this world. We does he (God) allow suffering to continue?
