I'm sorry, but I can't get with this! If you don't like the hair regs then get out!

It's not about "liking" the regulations. It's more about finding them inconvenient. The army assumes everyone has hair that's easy to deal with, when it's not. Black women have thick hair that grows out and not down like other races. If black women don't use damaging chemicals or damaging heat on their hair to make it straight, they have to wear it very short or in some type of braided style to keep it flat. Regardless of the style, there is the issue of maintenance. Straightened hair doesn't stay straight without maintenance. This is why so many black women in the military opt for braids. Braids are very easy to wash and maintain quickly. The regulations basically make it difficult for women who want to serve the nation to do so. There should be some sort of amendment.

Why are black women the only ones making a protest? Has anyone seen some of the other changes? I don't see those groups making a protest? Yes, it's actually time to have to do something with your hair more than once a month.

Ignorant people shouldn't comment on things they know virtually nothing about.
