Objectively, for the most part education in general IS in the U.S. But, is also monopolized and has nothing to do with,'what you pay for is what you get.' The core difference is HOW they teach. The "privileged" are allowed to think more than others, but funny thing is ....is that the facts they receive are better and more thorough yet there is more of a "brotherhood" culture. But, they still receive more slanted information just dressed up to appear more intellectual. It's just harder to detect. I guess this keeps them in line to be loyal to the system. The other parts of the population are just simply dumbed down. Both systems do not teach independent critical thinking skills. I was educated internationally as well as locally in America. There IS a difference!

No its not! I'm a Boeing 737 pilot for Southwest Airlines and only have a GED. I did have plenty of experience playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 though. No college needed.

The U.S. has been experiencing 5.15% annual college tuition inflation this decade. Despite this, 70.1% of high school graduates are now enrolling into college, a new all time record. 2/3 of college students are now graduating with an average of $24,000 in debt. There is nothing special about getting a college degree if everyone else has one, and it is certainly not worth getting $24,000 into debt to camouflage yourself into the crowd. NIA's President is friends with hundreds of CEOs of mid-sized corporations who tell him that someone who skipped college is a lot more likely to stand out amongst the hundreds of applicants who apply for each job available.
The real unemployment rate in America is now 22% and 60% of college graduates who are lucky enough to find a job, are receiving low skilled jobs where a college degree isn't even required. In fact, 70% of high school graduates who didn't go to college, were able to get these very same jobs as the average college graduate
This entire blog is intellectually dishonest. This guy knows that college is important. He also knows, there are some who will do well without, and some will do poorly with. However, if you follow the statistics, and I know he can interpret figure, college is a benefit. I work for one of the largest banks in the world and do nothing close to what I studied, however, I cannot say that college was a waste. I would never have been considered for the job opportunity without college. I would not have been considered for my previous IT job with Ross Stores if were not for my advanced degrees. I would not have been hired as the IT Director for SS White Burs 20 years ago if it were not for my teaching background at DeVry. And, I would not have been asked to teach classes at DeVry if it were not for having advanced degrees.

College is important.

1. Regulation of individualÂ’s physical reality [schools are essentially a day prison]
2. Major time commitment required for indoctrination sessions and

3. Need to ask permission for major decisions [or even minor decisions]
4. Rewards and punishments (behavior modification techniques- positive

5. Individualism discouraged; group think prevails
6. Rigid rules and regulations
7. Need for obedience and dependency

Its only a scam to people who don't have the heart to go.

If you noticed MOST people who have college degrees get hired over those who just have experience and those who just have certificates from technical schools.

If grammar and high school was important, then what the hell would make anyone think that college isn't?

I mean you do have college drop outs like Bill Gates, and Kanye West, but I mean how many people are really going to work hard to get on their level of success in this society.

I think that they should lower the cost of College, both grad and undergrad. I don't think they are going to do that seeing as though this is how the faculty and staff get paid, and for other important reasons as well.

I know that this will sound risky and dumb, but I think that college unless its private should be funded by our taxes. I know this would raise our taxes dramatically, but with the requirements many of these corporations and businesses are looking for to fill their positions it makes it imperative for a lot of people to get a college education, much more a bachelors degree. A lot of people don't finish because they can't afford it. If they do finish then will end up $60,000 in debt. This one girl on youtube made a spoof video about how she owes NYU $90,000.

I wonder how much public school would cost if it wasn't included in our taxes.

I don'tknow how much public school would cost, but before tax supported public school system was created most people didn't go to school.
In some countries abroad education is funded straight through university. And it costs much less.

I support funding your education. But, I want you to pay it back, but not in the way of loans. Most people (72%) do not have a higher education, but they will be subsidizing your education. So, I propose that you pay a higher tax (forever). After all, you would not have that quality of life if it were not for your publically funded education. Fair?
