The U.S. has been experiencing 5.15% annual college tuition inflation this decade. Despite this, 70.1% of high school graduates are now enrolling into college, a new all time record. 2/3 of college students are now graduating with an average of $24,000 in debt. There is nothing special about getting a college degree if everyone else has one, and it is certainly not worth getting $24,000 into debt to camouflage yourself into the crowd. NIA's President is friends with hundreds of CEOs of mid-sized corporations who tell him that someone who skipped college is a lot more likely to stand out amongst the hundreds of applicants who apply for each job available.

The real unemployment rate in America is now 22% and 60% of college graduates who are lucky enough to find a job, are receiving low skilled jobs where a college degree isn't even required. In fact, 70% of high school graduates who didn't go to college, were able to get these very same jobs as the average college graduate

"the same people that control the school system, control the prison system"

http://books.google.com/books...
From pre-school to high school we are downloaded with the basic educational package of science, history, reading and writting. From an early age we are placed in overcrowded classrooms, with dim flourencent lighting and boring teachers as part of a dumb down process to manufactor robots. The hallways and lunchrooms are gloomy, and its no coincedence they ressemble prison cells and mess halls.

If we follow the program of the matrix successfully, thats exactly the course of destination for many of us,school to prison.

We're flooded with information and instructed with information then instructed to memorize it a rapid pace.We are then tested to make sure we have accepted this information as truth.

Once we finish the 12 step program(high school),we move on to more advanced levels of brainwashed programming. So its safe to say going to school will only make you dumber!"

you could educate yourself but college is nothing but an expensive piece of paper like marriage. My man doesn't have bachelors degree but managed to get a good engineer job to help support me and our little unborn baby growing in me :)

college does seem like a scam.I use to read the books before I started class and the teacher basically just summarizes what I read give a test...give a grade. Then you either pass or fail.

It's very unfortuate that this facet of our educational system appears nothing more than another money hoarding scheme. Costs continue to escalate with little to show for all the big money collected. A high school shop teacher once told me that plumbers would earn as much as lawyers and from the looks of things, he was right.

for some careers like medicine i guess college is crucial..otherwise college is a money making scam..in some universities in england you pay almost a quarter of a million dollars for some socalled crappy posh school..dumb elitist crakka scumbags.a degree is a paper i can create on my laptop...besides some people might grasp what they studied but expressing it on paper might not be thier strong point..in other words this current educational system have ruined the lifes of millions of kids..because they didnt cheat and cram up some literature they read..thats all exams are cheat or cram otherwise your ass fail..how the fuk you gonna remeber all you studied word for word? I urge niccas to cheat is they cant pass or if the krakka ape beast keeps failing your ass cause your blk..krakka done cheated the world long enough..banks done cheat your ass long enough...besides some schools be failing your ass so you keep paying to take resits damn capitalist antichrist...i see a future..a communist future on earth if time isnt taken people are geting tired
CO-SIGN and on point! A dirty KKKave Krakkkaz bytch flunked me on math and I was doing right all along. It's like a car mechanic telling you need a lot of work done to get your car fixed when it's just a small, inexpensive problem. I later figured out what that KKKave bytch had done and I learned a good lesson. HIS-story can be biased, but math is universal. Check out the student loan debt in the US, it's damned near $1 trillion!

all a plumber can do is plumb
Plumbers tend to be mechanically inclined and certainly are capable of more than just plumbing, not to mention they're more in demand.

I've always said job training is better because that's basically why ur going to college right?? You're not going to college for literacy since you should have already became literate by the 12th grade.

Not only this but there are jobs that will pay for half or ur whole education for free. If ur going to college, at least work somewhere that will pay for half to decrease ur debt.

My scholarship covered 2 years of my college which helped me alot.I'm very thankful for that.Just have to seize the opportunity when it's there before someone else takes it.

I'm sorry, but if you can't and are not willing to show you've had the discipline to sit, listen, and learn for a period of time, but someone else has, then I'd hire the person with the degree. A job is nice to have, but a CAREER minded individual with an education to back them will go places. Any serious profession like Law, Medicine, Teaching, Engineering, will require a particular mindset from an accredited university.

I always thought it was a scam to claim you finished college, then spend a boatload of money to have your transcripts hidden when you decide to run for public office like Obama did.

Depends what you are doing.

Going to college/Uni sociology, English, psychology/ and other crappy degrees? You will fail.

Going to College/Uni for Medicine (Physician, Physician assistant, radiation therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, audiology, nursing), Engineering, law.... You will win!

STEM (Science, Technology,Engineering, Math) is the name of the game.

There are many fields that are demanding and don't cost as much. People just need to go for them.

For most "White Collar" careers , I would assume a degree of some sort is required to really advance in your chosen position.

Most "Blue Collar" occupations probably don't require a degree , except for occupations like welding , which requires some kind of Tech school certification.

I think some people falsely believe that being degreed is a guarantee to success. Not always. I know degreed people working at call centers for $8/hr., and I know people who barely graduated high school working in the gas fields up in North Dakota making 90k a year after taxes.

I think having a degree in a relevant field , like Computer Science or Small Business Mgmt., is of more value than having a degree in a worthless field , like Liberal Arts or 4th Century Peruvian Pottery. A degree in a worthless field such as those will guarantee a career at a call center.....or Chucky Cheeses.

In some cultures they prefer to keep people uneducated and ignorant. Zimbabwe and Afghanistan are two perfect examples. In Afghanistan they'll kill any girl with ambitions for school and higher learning. In Zimbabwe people are kept so clueless that they don't really know where their next meal is coming from. Yet, in America there are people who've never set foot on any college campus but will label a degree a scam.

Funny isn't it?

Black colleges are necessary for the jigs. You see these "HoFessors" allow these idiots to squeak by a D- and applaud them for being losers.

Stay away from black docs, dentists, attorneys etc. They are clueless.

Companies will pay you for your talent. I have a sis married to a guy who didnt go to college, but always loved computors. He's a true computor "geek" or wiz.The cat can build a PC from scratch. He works at a company that usually requires a degree in computors, but when they saw how good he was, they had to hire him.
These days,if you're bilingual in spanish, some companies will overlook if you dont have a degree(i know).
