Just left the faculty dining room where I saw something on CNN about a form of music which is a mixture of the music of Mozambique and Swedish music. Didn't get to hear all of the discussion.
I noticed that it was called "African music with a Nordic twist." Do anyone in AA Forum know of this seemingly new trend in music across the pond?
It sounds interesting.

By the way, the person I saw interviewed was a Black woman musician from Mozambique. I think the interview took place in Sweden, but I'm not sure.

I hope the spelling "Monoswezi" is correct.

Black creattivity anywhere in the world is of interest to me.

Actually, the name of that mixed African & European band (not Afro-European) ya got correct. ;-) The rest, not so much. ;-D Monoswezi stands for MOzambique NOrway SWEden ZImbabwe. The band is mostly based in Norway rather than Sweden. ;-) That female lead singer is Zimbabwean, & not Moza. ;-) Music they play is world, where traditional SE.African (mostly Shona) music is mixed w/ modern Jazz. That'd be it. ;-)

Hi Savant, I thought you might like to know that The Village by Monoswezi was released this week by World Music Network/Riverboat Records. More information at www.worldmusic.net/monoswezi or from the band's website www.monoswezi.com
Best wishes, Dominic
