They are abandoned. But even then, it's no excuse to exude hate. Not all do and are happy with themselves. Some are better at handling issues within themselves than others. It just depends how an individual chooses to live one's life. They can live resenting and hating, or move forward and find someone who doesn't look at the shade of their skin first. Date a better quailty of guys! I have dated all types of guys and noticed guys only treat women the way they treat themselves. The guy I talk to now is a black man and I am mixed white/spainish. This guy is my best friend. We do like each other but thats only cause we know each other and get along. Still when he dates other women he prefers darker women. In the past he has married darker women. Our friendship is the only thing that makes him like me...I'm not the norm for him. You can't change your skin color, but you can change the guys you talk to and the way you look at yourself. If you think only black guys date light skin women, then that's the attitude you give off. If you take a look at any black ghetto, you'll find that most of the residents are dark-skinned. It's easier for light-skinned blacks to get ahead in this country because white people do not feel too threatened by them.

Less threatening = better opportunities = better finances = more stable home environment (usually).

So if light-skinned people have better opportunities, their kids are more likely to be better educated. Their daughters are more likely to be raised in two-parent homes where they are able to see how men and women are supposed to interact with each other. They're less likely to end up as baby mamas with baby daddy drama.

Thus, they're more likely to be the ones who are asked out on dates instead of just being someone's booty call.
