Its clear that dark skinned have there stereotypes and does every other race but the light skinned man or women is always hated on by whites and dark skin black. Its like we are oppressed by the oppressed.
Women what problem do u have with te light skin male?

Dark Skinned Brothers y is it always a competition with u? not brown

Light skinned blacks name some of the problem wit having light skinned in AA social circle that u experience.

First of all you have to realize that if there is a rivalry between dark skinned and light skinned men, it wasn't started by the dark brothers. Light-skinned people in America have always had more opportunities a higher social status than dark skinned people. in fact, back in the day, light-skinned people, who enjoyed more economic power due to their connections with whites, built schools and clubs that excluded dark-skinned people.

W.E.B Dubois once said that UNIA (united negro improvement association) the organization started by Marcus Garvey and his mostly dark-skinned followers really stood for Ugliest Negroes In America.

light-skinned blacks imposed the paper-bag test on blacks who wanted to be part of their organizations.

Light-skinned blacks were always better educated, more accepted and tended to hold a much higher profile, especially among uneducated blacks.

Up until recently, light skinned black men were the standard. It was not until the black consciousness movement of the 70's and 80's that black men started to break out and get recognition.

I don't have problems with lightskinned people, especially since my whole family and my best freind is light...however, alot have had problems with me being dark and have implied over and over that they were superior because of a skin shade, not because they were more mature or educated...smh

i've had people who were lighter than me say, "thank god i'm not you, and that i'm mixed"

so i'd say in my experience that light people have a problem with me being dark.

what does it say about a person, if they intentional TRY to make you feel bad, stay away from those kinds of people, surround yourself with positive folks

House negro, is a term applied to Slaves who were created when Black female Slaves got raped/impregnated by White Slave owners. The resulting bi-racial, light-skinned, Slave usually rec'd preferential treatment on the plantation/from The Slave Owner. Including, usually getting the privilege to work (daily) in The Big House for years, which borne the term 'house negro' that we know of.

I dropped a Discussion thread on it here, yesterday, in terms of how this same unfair dilemma, helped Obama become President...check it out;

I think some people on topix be exaggerating when they make these threads though. I wonder if you actually went through this with lighter people or if its a lie.

If you are one who reaps the benefit, of lighter-skin, in a White racist-controlled society...then, of course, you will inevitably trivialize or belittle those who are victimized by the unfair dilemma.

Really? How stupid can people really get on a scale from 1 to 10 where 10 represents the most stupid? Im thinking maybe like a 20. There is nothing in particular that is cute in my opinion about a light skinned black man, and maybe that's because Im sort of on the light skinned side. Anyhow chocalate black men have always been and will always be the sexiest men on earth to me so Im guessing the guy who said this to you was secretly jealous. No offense to light brothas though, and some of yall are sexy yourselves.

This is very rare to me though, but I could write a novel on the amount of sexy chocalate men.
