why do black women want straight hair, like white women?

I find it gorgeous. I have long straight black hair, and it took them 6 hours to braid my hair into plats, and its not even that long. And the plats came out in like a week

Look straight-haired to me. In general, hair gets straighter the more east you go in this world. Ethiopians have straighter hair than Ghanaians, Indians have straighter hair than Ethiopians, Australians have straighter than Indians.

I'm an AA woman but I can't say I've ever wanted long straight hair. My mom just did it until I took over my own hair styling.

I like big 'fros, locs, two braids, cornrows etc.

Straight and wavy hair can be super-pretty if it's natural on the person.

My hair grows out(rather than down) naturally. I've got locks now & I can't see myself straightening again(even though some of my female family and associates are die-hard straighteners).

I just don't think it enhances beauty & i feel it's better to go w/ the flow of G-d's design.

Straight hair is definitly not better but most sisters don't know this because of our white indentified culture. I can't get mad at sisters really, they are just trying to look like what a lot of brothers sometimes seem to want.

This is true. If white women have been put on a pedestal for hundreds of years since slavery, who wouldn't be jealous. If you've been told that non-white women are ugly and white women are pretty, who wouldn't be jealous? The more we educate ourselves as to how it all began, the less likely we will be jealous of white women, and that's real talk. Slavery has a lot to do with it. A lot of people want to disagree, but it's the truth. Let's reeducate ourselves as to how this divide and conquer started.

Notice when black atheletes,and black actors,and actressess make in white hollywood, or they get a white person to feel accepted,or to show the standard.

Please, those white men have mothers. The hand that rocks the cradle......the rest is history. Most white women and black men think they are Gods gift to the opposite sex. I have not met a white man that is a push over yet.

You contradicted yourself. If white men are such push overs, how can you say they "stared" everything? Someone had to tell them what to do. Why do you think they are push overs?
