Hi.

I'm black but I have trouble with young black, ghetto kids.. for lack of better terms. I can easily spot the ones I don't get along with, I'm not calling all black people ghetto because it's not true.

I'll start off with saying, my parents are quite wealthy, we live in an upper-class residential neighborhood, I drive a Range Rover, etc. etc. and somehow I guess I seem like a 'sellout" to black kids.

I take pride in my appearance, am into fashion, talk properly, well traveled and culturedetc. but every time I wear "white people clothes" I get called gay, etc by other black kids, yet when I hang out with my white friends they all love it.

For example, I was in Europe for a week and I met and made many French, German and Italian friends , they loved me and loved the way I dressed and carried myself. Fast forward to today, fresh off the plane from Paris I was walking past a group of nasty ghetto black people and they were snickering and talking below their breaths. Probably calling me gay?

Honestly, by my past experience, I think those type of people are the lowest form of humanity and the scum of the earth but I don't ridicule them in their face. Sometimes I understand why white people look down on black people, as bad as it sounds.

So besides for informing us of what you think of a particular "type of Black people" which you term "ghetto" what are you trying to achieve with the information you just shared? Advice on how to deal with this particular "class " of people? Are you lobbing an insult in to the atmosphere to see the reaction? Are you asking if people have similar experiences or dissimilar ones? Are you asking if we care what white people think about us? If that is what you are inquiring Personally I could careless...
If you are asking what I feel about that "type" of black people, well since I have been called ghetto on numerous ocassions, and get ghetto with the best of them I'd have to say I have no problem with them. If you are asking why you have trouble with that particular segment of the black race well I can only speak for myself, if you come across so arrogantly and pompous as well as ciondescending as you have on these threads...I would say I can understand why you get a hard time, but again that is just my ghetto asz speaking.

Baby there is nothing wrong with you.You was raised in a good element oppose to me, I was raised in the heart of the ghetto. Now that I'm grown, I live in a pleasant neighborhood. I have a excellent career and my children are recieving everything my mother couldn't afford to get me, including education. My children talk real proper and when we visit family that live in the hood, some of my cousins throw slurrs at us. They have said that I was a sell out because I'm raising my children to be white. I said to them why ,because they use the correct english? My children don't talk slang.People are jealous. Believe me, I know the feeling.I understand hoe you feel.

Kyle, why aren't you listed as a member of topix?

How do we know that you are black?

How do you know these kids are for the ghetto?

Have you been to their homes?

Have you tried greeting them in a friendly manner?

Have given them your lunch money?

Have they asked for your lunch money?

Do you eat lunch?

Do you eat lunch with them?

Have you invited them to your home?

Have you let them ride in your Range Rover?

Do you flaunted your parents wealth in front of them?

Do you speak in a condescending tone to them?

Are you gay?

Do you associate with gays?

Is your parents gay?

Do you associate with white kids in school?

Do you have any black friends?

Do you wish you were white?

Do you act white?

Do you wear white colored clothes?

Do you wear white socks?

Do you wear penny loafers?

Are you gay?

It sounds like you have a problem!

This to shall pass!

Kyle Darlin,

I take it that you're young. Have no fear, I was in a similar situation to your own. I stuck out like a sore thumb in my neighborhood growing up, and it is part of the reason I ended up in the caribbean and traveling around the world. I didn't really fit in with what was going on in "Da Bronx."

I cringe when I see certain Black people behaving a certain way, especially in the south.

But I think you need a little bit of help hunny. I travel too. The places you've been, I've probably been, and to more of them... for longer periods of time. I can see from what you're writing where you are making your mistake. Believe me... if you are on here saying you think these ghetto people are the lowest form of humanity, then there is something in your action that probably speaks that sentiment out loud. Your parents didn't do a good job of acculturating you with your brethren. By now you should have done some volunteering with the poor, or some tutoring with underprivileged youth. I left NY to go away for college, partially to get away from the "ghetto," and the FIRST thing they did my initial semester there, was put me RIGHT back into it, and I'm very glad they did! They MADE me become a 'Big Sister." It helped me to understand that everything is CAUSE AND EFFECT. There is a reason why those kids ridicule you. There is a reason you feel the way you do. There is a reason why you are starting to feel you fit in better with "white" people.

I first need to know your age before I can go on.

Well you have a nice life, thats great, i was lucky enough to be raised in a middle-class background but my parents went through hel.l and earth to acheive what they did, going into a country that didn't want them, where they had to see signs turning them away saying, no dogs, no irish, no blacks, starting out in nothing more than one room..but somehow against all the odds they acheived and gave us a lifestyle they never had as children..i never forget my folks struggle, they are an inspiration to me so maybe.. if you could just step outside of your cosy world for one second and imagine, what life would be like for someone who does not have the advantages you have never had to work for and taken for granted.
I don't know how old you are but i hope, that you can get past this "better than them attitude," i can give something to the community that you find so repulsive..because i'm sure that some of those people are not "all" their by choice, but by circumstances they had little or no control over.

I know thats right sista. I wish i had the patient to learn different language. I plan to make Spanish an elective cradit. A few of my co-workers told me Spanish is the most easiest language to learn. I also want to learn Spanish because it's the second popular language in the US. My children know Spanish and French.

I wonder if these ghetto black teens were raised PRIMARILY by their

1) BLACK MOTHERS
2) Black fathers
3) Both Black parents

Blame the parent THAT RAISED THE CHILD! The fruit never falls far from the tree.

9 times out of 10, if the Kid is fu kked up, we only need to look at the parent who raised him, and his home enviornment.

Personally, I believe that NO BLACK WOMAN should be allowed to have children before age 30; and black man, before age 34.

I cite the works of Dr. Frances Cress Welsing, to support my position.

We are simply ill-prepared and too emotionally immature, as a Black people, to start families any earlier than these recommended ages.

Like I mentioned earlier, you are not a black person!

Why are you hiding behind a black face?

Is your own face so ugly that you would uses a black face?

What is your problem with blacks?

Was your mother black?

Were you breast fed as a child?

Were your parents black?

Do you like white people?

Are you the Black Avenger?

What is your problem with African-Americans?

Are you prejudice?

Do you hate black people?

Are you black?

Black Life here you go spouting this ignorant shit again. How can you make this generalization? My mother had me at the age of 18. She worked, finished high school, got a good job and when she and my father seperated, took care of us kids when my dad skipped out. She MADE SURE we had food, nice clothes and never ever not once abandoned us to chase a man or anything like that. She was very emotionally mature at her age because all of us kids are happy. None of my brothers and sisters are in jail, on drugs or anything like that. My sister has 2 small boys and she goes to school, and takes care of her kids BY HERSELF. She has no "baby daddy" to help her because he is in [prison. Is she "emotionally immature?" I think not. Its easier to not give a f*ck, than it is to actually care and work hard and sacrifice so your children can become something. Because if it wasnt for my loving mother, I wouldnt be who i am today.

Kyle, I think you're white! I think you're a poser!
Many of your answers smack with whiteness!

I think its your condescending tone!

Just about in every answer and responds your tone was condescending.

If you don't care about topix, why are you on taopix begging for answers to this silly ass question?

Go home white boy and quit posing!
