And how do they glean these riches? By the cheap labor of immigrants, of course! What is needed, of course, is high EU-style tax rates NATIONWIDE so the parasites will have nowhere to go... They want the "California dream" but they expect the majority to live on the edge, barely able to pay the exhorbitant rents driven up by these same rich... It had to collapse, and it did. These rich emigrés will soon find that due to the economic situation, their taxes will go up in Arizona or wherever else they run. The USA will either get with the program and become more like the EU, or the whole country will continue to slide into the 3rd world. This has nothing to do with California specifically.

California has the 8th largest economy in the world, I won't call it third world yet. This whole country is in a crisis except a few states.

Your other persona....... nevermind! Notice thje Quotation marks Moron? Yeah, I guess nobody ever taught you the meaning of them , huh? Look real hard for them sh*t for brains! lol Here is the repost: You cannot pay the salaries and pensions that California pays to it's employees and politicians and hope to ever balance a budget. Couple that fact with an illegal alien invasion and it is a recipe for disaster. In the 1990s California saw 2.08 million more people leave than moved there from other parts of the nation. According to the U.S. Census, this loss was offset by a net immigration of 2.02 million from Latin America. From 2003 until 2008, Illegal aliens were getting home loans from all of the local and national banks and also played a role in the housing bubble bursting in the southwest, particularly in California. You idiots are like the proverbial frog boiling in the pot! lol When the housing bubble burst in late 2008, California’s homeownership rate was only 55.7% as compared to 66% for the entire nation. California’s white (non-Hispanic) population has been leaving in droves. ''The result of this has been a dramatic increase in costs relative to the rise of its population of illegal aliens. By 2004, a study by the Federation for American Immigration Reform that examined the costs of education, health care, and the incarceration of illegal aliens committing crimes in California, concluded it costs Californians $10.5 billion per year. The K-12 education system spent approximately $7.7 billion to school the children of illegal aliens and another $1.4 billion in taxpayer’s money went toward providing healthcare to them and their families, about the same spent on incarcerating illegal alien criminals." You who live in Northern California where will start to feel it soon, just wait, it will get too you. lol You cannot pay out in services and debt more than you take in tax revenues. You will have to either raise taxes again in which more of your tax base will leave. Or cut spending. Ha, like that will ever happen in California. lol *See azzwipe*? And all the other words are my own. lol

As for you idiotic views of California, you can think what you want. The entire country is in a budget crunch and it's only fitting that a state with an economy that makes YOUR state look like a department store, would have a larger deficit when things go array. It's no more complex than that. Your ridiculous claims of liberalism (despite the fact that we have a Republican governor) are dumb and out of place. Learn to keep your conversations of economics out of your SHORT SIDED conservative viewpoints on how people should live. I guess next you'll tell me that gay marriage will cause an economic crisis too right? Get a clue. BTW, the republican party is dead! I should sue you for slander!

THE BIGGEST REASON is because you failed to curtail illegal immigration... WHY would you want to educate and provide services for people who are not even citizens of this country? It only invites disaster for the taxpayers who have to foot the bill for this nightmare, are you not aware of this? You guys are billions of dollars in debt and growing....soon your problem will reach 100 billion, what will you do then, ask for a govt bailout? If I were you I'd condider this a serious matter. No one here is jealous of cali or trying to pick on where you live however we do not want the rest of the USA to become like california... Think about what I'm saying before you reply,ok? So our deficit is because of illegal immigration? OK..... So how do you explain the past deficits and how'd we come out of those situations considering the number of illegal aliens has increased not decreased over the years? I'll wait....

The question you asked was a simple one and the answer is increased revenue from higher taxes put to the working class domestics of california...this however is not the answer to problem and another reason why caali is turning into third world country right before our very eyes

I would say the big difference is that first, California is now viewed as not tax friendly and not business friendly. Second, the inflow of educated people had always been greater than the out flow of educated people. But now the outflow of educated people is greater than the inflow of educated people. This is dirty part and there is no nice way to put this but: Third, Hispanics are the largest ethnic group or are quickly becoming the majority in California and they don’t attend college, graduate from high school, or get a GED. To be blunt, they are not passionate about education and their educational track record “SUCKS.” According to Census 2000, 52 percent of Hispanics in the 25-to-64 age group do not have high-school diplomas, they are locked into low paying jobs. You can’t have a first world economy when 10% to 60% of your largest demographic group has less than a 9th grade education and does even bother to enroll in high school. You are not going to have a first world economy by having a society that can only be maids, bus boys, gardeners, and cherry pickers. The simple reality is the Hispanics are California largest demographic group and the have one of the lowest education attainment rates. California may or may not be a disaster in future, but the reality is California will most likely not be able to maintain its position as the worlds 7th largest economy when the largest demographic groups does not go high school, does not graduate high school, does not get a GED, and certainly does not go to college. Low levels of education equals low salary. The large High School drop out rate for Hispanics in California is the good news. How about California’s dirty secret that it has no idea how to fix? The 55% drop out rate sometimes does not reflect the Hispanic students who did not enroll in 9th grade to drop out. Yes, you read the previous statement correctly. The theory is if you never enrolled in high school and your education stopped at the 8th grade or lower, you are technically not a high school dropout because you were never in high school to begin with.

This from the same person that profits from and recieves goods and services cheaper off the backs of the very people you seek to destroy. I on ther other hand do not. The theory is if you never enrolled in high school and your education stopped at the 8th grade or lower, you are technically not a high school dropout because you were never in high school to begin with. Actually, whites are the largest group in CA at 42%(no longer a majority by the way) followed by Hispanics at 36%. We also host the largest agricultural output of any other state as well as lead in many different areas. You will not convince me that Hispanics not graduating form high school is the reason CA is at a deficit. CA also collects more residential property taxes than any other state. We also are responsible for nearly 35% of all mortgage transactions in the country. The same "uneducated" (as you put it) people help the agricultural markets of CA thrive as well as the blue collar markets. Look at the construction rates in CA versus other states. Simply put, as long as CA is one of the most desirable places in the to live country based on climate and opportunity, we will lead this nation as we ALWAYS have.

Nobody has said that illegal immigration and aliens are the sole problem in California dummy. It is however the pink elephant in the room that those in power don't want to talk about. The California State Senate and Assembly have been in democrat hands since 1970. And as "democraps" always do. They spend more than what they take into the Treasury. No other state has ever had to issue IOUs to my knowledge. Only California, twice! lol Your state is over 27 billion in debt moron and outside of all the greed and un-accountability of the rank and file politicians, illegal immigration is very high in the deficit rankings . Of course you're are so stupid, you just can't bring yourself to see it.
