You're welcome. You seem like one of the only calm mannered and intelligent person on here. I think this is a positive thread so I'm surprised it didn't get the attention these odd ones get. I thought you were latina or Northeast African like Ethio or Habesha, etc. until I read your first post. Most biracials do identify with being black. I don't, but I don't dismiss it. Only because both my parents aren't fully black and where I'm from, if you don't look black, you'll be laughed off stage if you claim just black. I identify as Creole so I don't have to explain to the ignorant (not knowing) blacks and whites why I look the way I look. But like you, I'm proud of all of my heritage. Do you only identify yourself as black?
Thank you, and when people ask me I just say African American. Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Louisiana, not far from New Orleans. I've been living in CO for a few years now as I came up here for school primarily. I'm going back down south though. I've had enough of this lifestyle up here lol. Where are you from?

I take a lot of pride in my black heritage just like Asians take pride in being Asian and whites people take pride in being white. I think it's sad that we're the only race of people who hate being what we are and rather be a different race. I love every bit of myself and my black heritage so people stop throwing around lies about biracial people saying we're confused and hate ourselves cause it's a lie.
Seems like you are trying to convince yourself by starting this thread.

Don't know why many blacks are ashamed to be black. Some will yell I am black and proud but will denied being black faster than Peter denied Jesus.

Is funny but I see more biracial such as yourself expressing their live and pride for blacks than the Wesley snipes look alikes.

I think biracials Gould embrace both races and shouldn't embrace only black.

Being mixed is great, I got 3 different races coursing through my veins. Aint nothing wrong with it, heck i promote it. I love my blackness too, black is beautiful. We mixed bloods are the future.

Upstate NY sounds nice...and very expensive. Why do you hate it there? And why CA? I'm Senegalese, French, Native American, and Scottish. I don't like where I live either. It's ok, but boring to me for the most part. I really want to be closer to my family. It works out moving to TX because my fiancé is in the oil business and we'll be living only a weekend driving distance from my family. No more back and forth for him. I miss the waters too.

It''s actually cheaper here upstate then it is downstate like the city for example. It's boring and unfortunate here in Schenectady. I love Cali i was there last year visiting family, and it's just so beautiful there. Also my mother is Irish and my father is African American with the thinnest bit of Native American in him. I love being mixed that's why it actually bothers me that people think we're confused and upset with whatever race we are. 8 of my great great grand parents are straight from Ireland and i grew up in a very Irish family. Every st patrick's day my whole family gets to together and drinks are asses off, but i also celebrate all black history month lol. It's a great mix.
