Here's my top ten:

1.Randy Rhodes second riff on the song "Tonite" from the album "Blizzard of Oz"..absolute genious ..so beatiful and heartfelt. This one solo by Randy was almost transcendental.

2.Eddie Van Halen's sol from the song "One Foot Out The Door" from the album "Fair Warning" This solo showed so much of what I like about Eddie's abilites.Speed, fluency ,technical skills as well as his trademark fretboard agility.

3.Eric Clapton's solo on the song "Cocaine" I just like the way he goe along with the rhythm of this song.

4.Ernie Isley's solo on the song "Cimbing Up The Ladder". Ernie is a uncanny fretsman with good feel for where he wants to go in a solo.Love his transitions.

5.Gary Moore's solo on the song "Cold Hearted".Bluesy, powerful, and well-delivered

6.David Gilmour's work on the song "Comfortably Numb"

7.Ted Nugent two solos on the song "I Got The Feeling" from the album "Weekend Warriors".Fk his politics. Screaming Ted is a very capable axman with advanced skills. In fact he has so many good solos until it'd very difficult to choose just one.

8.Molly Hatchet's solos on the song "Gator Country".These two axmen(don't know their names) showed seamless harmony on some very detailed and trying riffs.

9.Billy Gibbons on ZZ Top's song "Pearl Necklace".This is just a fun good sounding riff from a under-appreciated musician.

10.Led Zeppelin's song "Dazed And Confused" It's Jimmy Page what more do I need to say?

Well those are my ten straight off the top of my head.I could have easily mentioned Jimi H.,Richie Blackmore,Yngieve Malmsteen,Alex Leifson,Tom Sholz and many others..

Feel free to list yours!

for some strange reason ive began to dislike all kinds of music for instance whining women songs and whining men songs and any song with the word club, champagne, rocks, ice, cars or boats in the lyrics but I really really dislike the musicians that count as in "1,2,3,4 lets go" or say "put your hands in the air" or where are the "wyte women"

so Ive become more interested in quiet things, these are my top ten 'Great Things That Make Zero Noises'

1. Grass

2. Paint

3. Toilet Tissue

4. Clean Carpet

5. Clouds

6. marble statues

7. folded laundry

8. Antique Wet Black Chevrolet Toys

9. Numbers

10. coffee mugs

How do you feel about these Noiseless Wonders?

LMAO!!

Well the music of today is too synthetic and passionless.Everybody wants to make a quick buck and the music suffers.

Also as far as black music goes too few black children play instuments these days unlike days of old.You had bands like Funkadelic,War,Raydio,Brass Construction,Slave that made legendary music ..This stuff today is "fast-food" music

Yeah Jimmy P. is timeless, but don't sleep on some of Deep Purple..as far as guitarist these days none really impress me but i will check out the two you mentioned.

Also check out the guitarist from Suicidal Tendencies.

That's cool but try to keep it guitar please. Also your Prince submission was great.

Really liked some of his work on the album N.E.W.S. and "Emancipation".Very varied and under-appreciated guitarist.

Oh it's cool..

now i'm gonna 'take it there" for a minute.

Mettalica is one of those bands you either love or hate.

I personally liked their earlier stuff..with that in mind I'll highlight some of my favorite solos from their lead guitarist Kirk Hammet that I liked

1."Ride The Lightning" the solo from this title cut was very impressive. It was like they let Kirk be Kirk it was long fluent and he ran some very good basic scales.

2.Creeping Death- Nice fun solo that not that hard to get into especially the middle part.

3.Escape- again from the album 'Ride The Lightning'

4.'One'-from the album "And Justice For All" You can really see his growth as a muscian on this particular cut.

5."To Live Is To Die'-another from And Justice For All innovaative and technical

6.'Whiplash"-off of "Kill Em' All" Kirk outright hauls a$$ on this one

Honorable Mention-"Call Of Khtulu"

Wasn't too particular about their album "Master Of Puppets though the instrumental "Orion" caught my attention.Seems like after the And Justice For All"album they put handcuffs on Kirk.

oh yeah Maxx Prince is simply otherworldly..

I wonder why young black males are so resistant to playing lead guitar these days?

Anyway, Eddie Hazel and Micheal Hampton are also great guitarist...

As in the song "Maggot Brain" This one song shows that Eddie and or Mike are not to be underestimated.
