I've been natural since 2008. I started my transition by wearing braids until my processed hair grew out. Then I switched it up to weaves this year, just for some variation. Now I wear my hair curly by using perm rods to enhance my natural curl. There are tons of videos on youtube that should help you decided what technique is best for your type of hair.
Good luck.
Ice,I just find the diversity in black women so invigorating. Black women by the multitudes are transitioning, and I absolutly love it.althought fake hair is usually downgraded as well as perms, they enfatuate me as well, the diffrent styles and textures,I just love it,thanks for the tip sista. Another thing I love is when black women do the big chop, some men might complain it looks manly, but it looks absolutly gorgeous and takes courage to do so. Lovin my sistas;)

Great thread! I am a business professional looking to do more entrepreneurial type projects. Also in my spare time I like to write and create. I am thinking about taking a few classes in the Spring semester. A writing class and one in jewelry making will be ideal. I want to apply early so that I can get in where I fit in. Last but certainly not least I am a mom, I have a great son he is a thinker and well behaved, never in trouble and I thank God I have one like that. Being a mom is rewarding and the most positive experience in my life, it bares on everything I do both professionally and personally.
Wow! That's amazing. I go to a private university and major in psychology and minor in sociology . I love Italian food and adore tennis. Additionally, I love natural hair, which is why mine is and In future references I plan on doing my first research project on how women are portrayed in the media.
So, what do you love to write about?

Love is breaking out in the African Nation. You will notice that the white racists are acting desperate. Yesterday, North Somalia began to help natural disaster victims in southern Somalia. This is a first. But it shows that we have a natural love for our fellow Africans. We ought to be more conscious of it and reinforce and encourage it more.
Oh most definetly, see ..theres so much hatred on these other forums,we fail to recognize that even here we still have love for eachother, although black women are usually bashed,I wouldn't trade being black for the world.

i went natural in 2008 as well. i just had a love affair with my natural hair!!!! i knew i wanted locs, but i did NOT want to start off with short locs. so i gradually cut my perm off,(cut 4 inches off at a time....and started 2strand twisting....threw some color in it, and i was just gorgeous!!!!

Jesuspeaceabdlove,
Maxis are ok...I like long dresses that show off curves, just all around beautiful.:) Lol! I never read about the culture, I'm just huge fan of their food. I think so far I love B'stella the most.

Wow that sounds good and it's great you like to play tennis. I tried hard to adore tennis but alas it wasn't my forte`. That will be an interesting project and needed. Women especially BW are often portrayed as one denominational, angry or catty.
I use to enjoy Italian food but Mexican food was my favorite. Currently I am a raw vegan. Completed a 35 day juice fast in October, that was an accomplishment and well worth it.

I am mostly into creative writing, interested in fiction writing. I'm going to take a creative writing course maybe online. Can't be at school all day as I have a business to run.
