It depends on what your potential is.
To the average person, I would say go ahead, especially the average black guy in East London.
But to you I would say don't do it.
It's not just your a year in prison. As you are over 18, it means a criminal record that will follow you and limit your opportunities for the rest of your life.
You are on an American forum... would you like to vacation in the USA in the future, or maybe even meet an African American girl and marry her?
If you are a British citizen with a criminal record other than traffic violations, you can forget about being issued a visa by the US embassy.
That embassy does takes 5 or 6 months to issue a travel visa and they refuse anyone with a criminal conviction.
Also many top emplpyers ask if you have a criminal record as you know.
I think ypou have great potential, to earn lots of cash legitamately.
