Yes, universal healthcare access is coming... eventually we'll remove insurance companies from the mix altogether, and it will be govt-run. Don't like it? Get in a time machine and go far back into the past to which you cling, you dysfunctional sociopathic misfit.

UNIONS for all... why should the employers have all the power? They control wages, working conditions, everything... NO! In a free society the WORKERS have the right to collective bargaining.

Then, why don't you head on back to Mexico. No one is begging you to stay here. You must be sorely confused if you believe otherwise.

BTW... why should owners have all the power? Last time that I checked, it was the owners who put up the capital and if the company goes down, it's their neck on the line.

If one of those employees wants the power, nothing is stopping them from starting up a business and then they can make up the rules.

You seem to be a bit confused as to how things work in the world.

Yes... well, the USA is a primitive and unevolved society compared to the EU. Yanks are paranoid and easily suckered by corporate-serving connedservative lie fed to them by the media...and they're too dull-witted to discern that they are being fed the means of their own oppression.
It's a dull-witted culture...
As you can see in here. So much ignorance... far more per capita than in Europe or other regions.
Well, we have unions everywhere . I think ppl in America are very unilateral . I think somehow the richest do want justice for the workers. Where I live. What employer want to send workers home to live in poverty. I'm not a socialist but there are socialists I respect very much. Mostly the older ones. It's like 100 years backwards to let the workers live in bad conditions. I support the unions. We also have unions for doctors, lawyers. Everyone.

I have asked this question before, but never got a satisfactory answer.

From what I hear, it seems that there was a time- like maybe 1970s or earlier, when a person could not have insurance or be on medicare or medicaid, and something like having a broken arm, gall bladder sugery, giving birth, or going to an emergency room for something that turned out to be a simple issue, didn't necessitate nights of not being able to sleep worrying about how they would ever be able to pay off such a huge bill and setting up a payment plan that would take years to pay off. It seems people were able to pay at least a big chunk of it right away and then the rest over two or three months of relatively small payments. Now, it often costs about 200 to 300 dollars just to take a kid with a cold to the doctor.

Well, that's too damn bad. The unions were the ones pushing for it so they won't get any sympathy from me.

You never know to whom you're speaking, Wally, so best keep your mouth shut under all circumstances.

You keep changing it. First it was in public, now it was in private but spoken to "the wrong individual." Yeah right. And that wouldn't change the fact that you said these people were yelling out racial slurs toward Mexicans.

Well, on one hand America is very exotic. On the other hand there's this plasitic culture. I've seen ppl returning home. They've lost their spirit.
I find the instructor David Lynch very interesting. And the artist Duane Hansson. They were rebelling somehow.

Who is Andy Stern one might ask?

Quote:
"Born the son of a lawyer in West Orange, New Jersey, Stern was a student leftist in the 1960s. He began college as a business major at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business but ultimately graduated in 1971 with a B.A. in education and urban planning.[16][17]

After graduation, he spent time traveling in Europe and trained in the tactics of radical activism at the Midwest Academy[18], an educational institute formed by former Students for a Democratic Society member Paul and Heather Booth to teach leftist community organizers how to promote social change and infiltrate the labor movement[19].

Stern began his career as a welfare case officer and member of the SEIU in 1973, eventually being elected president of his Pennsylvania local.[17] In 1980, he was elected to the union's executive board, and in 1984 the union's then-president Sweeney put him in charge of its organizing efforts.

That's right - we're going to leave decisions regarding our FUTURE...

...to a failed university student, who did his political maturing by touring the Eurotrash Fabian Socialist subculture...and who THEN TAKES A JOB AS A WELFARE CASEWORKER.

I've BEEN a welfare caseworker. They're not social workers; they're the lowest of the paper-pushing bureaucrastocracy. They MANAGE the lumpen oafish ignorami who populate the welfare rolls...and they want to manage US, independent-thinking productive people, the same damn way!

Not in THIS lifetime. When the clash comes, one of us is going to get a quick ticket to Hell...and I'm betting it won't be me."

What could possibly go wrong?

As long as there are open borders, unlimited workers from around the world, there can be no successful union. Cesar Chavez, among others, knew that. Where were unions when NAFTA and such [email protected] went through- heck even when Johnson allowed the first factories into Mexico- or was it a President erlier than him, because I know that he allowed it and expanded it.

They very well may have. It's funny because to hear some people talk, on the one hand, all we hear is how fat we are in this country and in the next breath, they're screaming about how we have all these starving people here. It would be nice if they could make up their minds.
