yeah it will. I see it everyday around here. The usual, Black men and White women, White men and ASian women. But these days, I've been seeing Black women and White men more often too in the bigger cities. I am happy because I date Black women mostly.

I think it'll do what's it's doing now. Giving people freedom of mind to try "something new". Lots of people that date ir eventually marry w/in their race anyways. I honestly think the only reason why alot of people date out is b/c the media is playing it up, esp if they're younger in age. I doubt if as much ir was shown on t.v. that ir would exist. People are just doing it (most people imo) b/c the t.v. acts like it's the norm. Once the hype settles, so will ir. It's just a new fad, that'll fade.

People have been meeting and mating since the dawn of civilization. This is nothing new, really. People like what they like. There isn't necessarily any rhyme or reason to the complexities of human attraction. That's how we're designed. It's in human DNA to be attracted to something different and the genetic diversity has proven vital for our survival.

It has nothing to do with the media or TV.

Lol, it is NOT human nature to attract something different. There are people who find an attraction to another person of a different race. That's not the problem. The problem is when people start LOOKING to date ir. They have no real reason to but the fact that they think the grass is greener kind of mentality.
And I know people personally that grew up never thinking a thing about other races but now that it's always shown on t.v. they're wanting to be "diverse" & date others. Media is playing a role in the ir dating, esp w/the younger generation & single people. If you think it's not you're being very naive.

i have to disagree
the media is not the reason many folks of my younger generation is dating outside their own, its how they were raised
i, as well as many other youngins were not taught to see color
we were raised among eachother
all the neighborhoods and schools ive attended were always diverse

saying that people are datin ir because of the media is a cop out
thats like saying these teenage girls are getting pregnant because of juno (which many folks have said)

its a different day and age
my generation arent as caught up on race as the older generation which leads them to be curious about ir

If you were raised not to see color than you wouldn't have so many ir films. Sweetie it's purposely done. If you haven't fell for it good for you. But everybody knows kids are impressionable. Advertising agencies market products to pre teen/teen age groups. Most of this group doesn't have jobs so they don't have money. Only what their parents give them & since kids can persuade their parents to buy thing like the t.v. may not be able to persuade the parents. Marketing 101. Hanna Montana. That's So Raven. All those other kids shows that have wallpaper & clothes & accessories. They're making millions & it's not b/c adults are buying. It's the kids.
If you disagree that's fine. But media does play a role in this ir trend. How big of a role? That answer's going to vary but only a fool would say that media doesn't play a role in this ir trend @all.
