I know right? I'm so tired of hearing these men complain about black women wanting thugs. Most black women I associate with are not into thug lovin in the least. I personally think the thug mentality is childish.

Yes they are but like with all colours they can have 'wild' hair too. Some kids actually look cuter with so called 'wild' hair, and aren't bothered.(Rastas for instance). At a young age why should they be, they are pleasantly free from bitching. Why should you be 'concerned on their behalf', it's not your hair. Not everyone wants to look exactly the same with there hair tied up, and flattened to their scalp, staightened or braided, that's why there are styles. If people want a particular style that's fine too, it's about choice. To have a discussion around children's hair, with a statement that was deliberatly designed to undermine mixed race kids in particular, when they are not in a position to respond is to make the person who wrote it sound vindictive arrogant and insecure, How can you be'offended' by a little child's hair. How ridiculous you are. If she wanted to be 'helpful' she wouldn't have worded the statement in such an offensive manner. Did any mixed race child ask for her opinion? There are plenty of magazines out there, with proper non-discriminative advice should the parents or the child be interested, it is of their determining not hers. She might want to concentrate on 'grooming' her own social skills and smooth out that coarse manner she's allowed to get so out of hand.

The original poster meant that some mixed kids don't ever have anything done to their hair and that their non-black mothers think that the mix child's hair should be washed everyday like theirs. Or that a perm makes the child's hair more like theirs.

Noone is offended and noone wants everyone to look the same. You cannot lie and say that you have never seen the child that needs a little more moisture.

One mixed person on here has mentioned that she can't stand to see any of her childhood pictures because all of them show her with the frizzy blond afro.

This is a public forum where people post their opinions on lots of things, but this is not one of the least important issues. Some mothers of mixed children have even asked for advice on what to do to their children's hair, and many have answered with advice.

This thread has proven to be not all negative. It's just the overly sensitive people that found offense to this particular thread.

Um, who are you talking to? I didn't say anything derogatory towards mixed children, nor said I was offended. Wtf? You quoted me saying black kids are cute too and that was in response to someone saying that they wanted mixed kids as if they are better than black children.

I apologise to you, my post was attached to yours because I agreed with your comment. My criticism was actually directed to so called 'black beauty' and the orignal posting. If you re-read it I don't think you can deny the woman lacks social skills and manners. I am mixed and happy to
be, but I don't think i'm better or worse than anyone else black or white she does.

I've seen plenty of black kids and white kids that could do with a little moisture in their hair too. Even if I thought it and felt the need to comment I wouldn't be so rude in my manner, and choose my words more carefully, her intention was to be derogatory not helpful. Other people on this forum have made attempts at giving advice without the attitude, she's contributed nothing constructive herself. As I said there is intelligent advice in specialist magazines, more worthy of attention.
Which part of the photo was the girl ashamed of the fizzy unmoisturised afro or the blond? Why does so called'black beauty' who actually looks a little mixed herself, try to undermine black men who have kids with white women,(none of her business as they are old enough to determine their own minds) maybe white women appreciate their 'ugliness'(as she put it in another forum), more than she does. Does she feel the same way about black women with white men?

Yes, she was crass. Not everyone took offense.

The girl that mentiond her shame was referring to the frizz, which i've seen as well.

By the way, that's not BBW's real picture.

Being a white woman married to a black man with two beautiful mixed girls I am deeply offended that one would imply that white women don't know how to take care of hair. It's simple really..a woman who takes care of her kids regardless of their hair type will get it right to the best of her ability. My girls have gorgeous curls and wear it natural on most occasions! I want them to love and embrace their curls and not forever pine for straight locks and sizzle and poor chemicals on their hair like so many black women. Thuth...whatever that means...you are obviously poorly educated so I won't be too hard on you..but get with the times. Most women long for a round butt and we do look at black women and are like wow...what a nice ass..i wish I had one like that..but I don't. Next time you see a white woman...do me a favor and smile and say hi...if she has some nappy headed kids...smile and say hey to them as well. I love black people, I love mexicans, I love asians...i don't care if they are nappy headed or not. I am guilty of my girls going with nappy heads on occasion to the store but so what...they are just kids for petes sake! Let's all just be cool.

Well, N2 that's all nice, but if the baby's head aint combed how will the daddy know if it is his? What if the other kids call him nappy head? What if having an uncombed head of hair prevents a mother from clothing the child?
