I have the utmost respect for Gen. Allen and all he has done during his career and while in AFN. I take strong exception to his statement regarding correlation between the recent escalation of Green on Blue AFN attacks on US soldiers.
Fasting does not drive someone to kill. Religion plays heavily in the AFN culture. Mullah's influence most beliefs as most AFN can't read. Misinterpretation of the Quran and influence from family drive these events - not fasting. Most AFNs want us (US) to leave - but continue the flow of US $,$$$,$$$, When US leaves so goes the AFN economy and in will rush taliban. It is inevitable. I am here and see this everyday.
