<quoted text>Good rant, and I agree to some extent. But the dictators WERE keeping "those bat shite crazies in check", until the US and its allies decided to get rid of them
And the idea of obliterating a place to put pressure on leaders is flawed in this context since you will invariably hurt only civilians and the dictators couldn't care less - recall the efforts to get Hussein and bin Laden.
Syria? The only reason for them to lash out at anyone is because of outside meddling in their affairs.
And think you mean Iraq, not Iran, unless you are privy to some special info.
Yes I meant Iraq... We could have taken out every target of interest with out any ground troops.. Then walked away and said screw em... As we should have done in Afghanistan... In Libya and Egypt.. We should have said, Not our problem... In Syria, not our problem... But if we find out the Egypt, Libyan or Syrian governments Know and Allow their bad shite crazies to do us harm then we should be placing large craters where we wish until they contain their crazies...

OK, I'll bite. What would be "targets of interest" in Iraq, Libya and Egypt? What would be the objective? To destablise the countries and force the removal of leaders who have been successfully "containing their crazies" and replace them with new leaders who are either among the "crazies" themselves or who will allow them to function?

Target of Interests... Tanks, planes, fuel depots, electrical grid, government buildings, underground government sites... all the way to Out Houses and taxi cabs if need be until such actions are not needed to get the Population or the Government to control the bat shite crazies... No Objectives, Strictly Punishment would be to systematically convert the country into a land of horse and buggy riders if they choose to continue...

If I tell you that if you let you dog out of your yard I will Kill your dog and burn it's dog house, and mean it.. you may get upset... If you get another dog and let it loose and I tell you I will kill your dog, burn it's dog house and the garage... You Might want to come to my house and do me harm... At which point I burn your dog house, Garage, House, cut off your water, shoot down the electrical lines and kills your dog and cat at some point you either keep your dog on the chain or your place becomes a vacant lot...

You are missing the point. In the example of Iraq - which you cited - the "crazies" were under control. Saddam had zero tolerance for the fundamentalists. So, with your strategy, we then bombed Iraq to punish him........for what? And then we installed a regime which actually collaborates with and is compromised by, the extremists.
So how does your strategy help us?

You can lie, but you can't "explain." To "explain" something, it really should be factual, not made up in your fascist noggin.

Get lost, chump.

No I didn't miss the point... I was in total disagreement with troops on the ground in Iraq... But they attacked an Ally, Kuwait was an Ally... We thumped him like a melon... I would have been all for keeping him contained with the occasional thump when his troops fired on on our aircraft, and again when he claimed to be in position of weapons systems that he had Agreed to Not Have after he was thumped for Kuwait...

I could care less what he did in his own lands, Unless such is a direct threat, and his attempts to store and manufacture chemical and biological weapons was a threat... And we were still at War for 12 years after expelling his forces from Kuwait... We had only a Cease Fire and his troops fired on or radar targeted our aircraft every day for 12 years and made claims of large scale WMD's.. So We should have thumped him... But I saw no need to place troops on the ground or attempt to police Iraq, or change their government.. On that I disagreed with the Bush Admin... We should have thumped his forces every time they popped up...

Same with Afghanistan.. Once the Taliban refused to capture and turn over Bin Ladan and his troops we should have systematically thumped them until they either did, or found themselves living in caves and catching rain water... Then walked away.. Not a dime in aid, not a bottle of water, not an MRE....

Poor thing.... Again you have no idea do you... Again.. Fascism is Socialism... Mussolini was a Socialist... NAZIsm is Socialism... Hitler was a Socialist...

You should actually study a bit in real books or on line... If you find you can't understand the big words just drop by any local grade school and asked any 5th graders to explain them to you....

Fair enough. Can agree with much of that.
