Please stop it.
These machines are not invincible nor do they stick to the trail 100%. Any number of factors could have contributed to this tragedy. Unfortunately these things happen to people every year....all we can do is hope that the riders are being responsible and safe.

My thoughts and prayers go out to both families and to the woman injured.

Why when there is such a tragedy, people assume alcohol or other non factors were involved. A person was killed and another badly injured.. Respect the family...a life was lost!

This was one of my nephews, and I think the people who make comments about alcohol or such are ignorant, this was a tragic accident and though I did not know the woman involved, my prayers go out to her and her family, I truly hope she pulls through any injuries sustained as a result of this, snowmobiles are dangerous, it is such a horrible loss, lets not assign blame. Please have some respect.

My thoughts and prayers go out to both familes. Such a tragedy. I agree as well, that you can't just go ahead and make accusations about people you don't know. Obviously, police need to check out all factors, that's their job. But as a rider myself, Mother-Nature can just interfere with a perfectly safe ride. It's too bad. I hope that Jen recovers quickly. God Bless.

A lot of times speed, booze, and thin ice are at fault, however that is not always the case. Even without those factors even the best drivers get into trouble now and then. In this area the trails are not very well developed (no slight intended to the clubs that maintain them). Imagine driving even 10-20MPH with trees inches from your front skis. Hit one patch of ice slide 12 inches right and bang....you're into a tree. It can happen in the blink of an eye!

Its really impossible to tell what happened without knowing more details. Sledders be careful out there!

Sledding is awesome, people just need to be aware. And still, tragedy can happen.
