The "failure" of a student solely reflects the teachings, or lack there of, of his teacher.

Where she says he failed her class twice that says enough about Melanie Wittmier.

RIP Mike, find my canoe <3

You people who are trashing him and saying all these negative things about Mikey and this girl Jen are absolutely forgetting that he is passed and she is in critical condition, what about their families and friends for god's sake! think about it and put yourself in their families shoes before writing these absurd things! you people wouldn't want to read these things if this happened to you or your family! God bless their family and friends!
RIP Mikey! that wonderful smile will be always remembered!

Thank you my dear sister Joanne, I couldn't have written it better myself.
My heart aches for cousin B, Joan,Jessica and Danny and those who have been touched by a wonderful young man who enjoyed his family and friends. We will miss and I will always remember you with smile.

Unacceptable! The comments made by the Ayer High staff is unacceptable. I attended Ayer High and I am shocked. There was no need for those comments to be published and there was no honor in this article. This article makes me angry and the people involved should be ashamded.

I think this young man's past school performance has no bearing on this tragic accident. Why not remember him for who he was. The write of this article and the editor should be ashamed for writing such a hateful article. If they were unable to collect any positive comments, perhaps they should have not written anything. As for the Ayer officials, didn't your mother tell you as a child "if you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all"?

This is for the reporter, so called reporter. Did you enjoy trashing this young man? The teachers and staff of Ayer High School should be ashamed of themselves. I think you being the reporter, owe this family a published apology.

You are a damn fool if you are thinking that the teachers failed.

I didn't know Mike but this is the second time in less than six months that I have read the sentinel and others comments and them putting in their bad remarks about a person whose life was taken so early. This person DIED!! HAVE SOME RESPECT! not only for them but their family and friends! They are going to read these comments and it is painful. From someone who has lost their best friend and knows how you (the family and friends) feel, I am very sorry about your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. dont ever forget the good times you had with mike, those will be the memories that will keep his spirit alive and will help you through the hard times that lie ahead. RIP Mike.

An experienced snowmobile rider who knows the area would likely not be in such an accident unless there was something else going on, excess speed or driving under the influence. If either are the case, then he did something wrong and evil.

The trail conditions are pretty icy right now and the snow cover is very thin (the last snow is not sticking to the trail because it very powdery)....you might be correct, however there are other plausible explanations. Should wait to till something official is released before you rush to judgement.

Gerry, you clearly don't know the teacher.

Does not matter who the teacher is; people shouldn't blame teachers just because a kid fails TWICE. Nevertheless, that is not the point. This article does make me cringe.

You can't speak unless you know. Wearing a helmet or not. He took a chance and he lost his life. No one can predict the outcome of the chances they take. Sadly this is tragic. He was not drunk. If you think people dont drive fast on snowmobiles then your just ignorant. Young men and woman take chances in their lives that could turn into tragedy, its done everyday. Sunday was just not Mike's day. Jen has a loving family and group of friends around her, We have faith and hope for a strong recovery. God may have taken Mike's young life, but he knew he could not take a mother away from her children.

The accident sounds suspicious. I ride sleds and motorcycles. When you have a passenger, you should be ultra careful. Something went wrong, I'm not sure what, but before we canonize this guy, let's find out if this was his fault. With only one vehicle involved, you can't blame anyone else.
My heart goes out to the young woman and her family.

Shame on the teachers for their negative comments, and more so Shame on the Sentinel for printing them! I did not know this young man or his family but I am human-make mistakes-and have a heart! I can not even imagine the pain this family is suffering (and as a mother of a 15 and 21 year old pray I never have to). My deepest sympathy to the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

But if this young man is responsible for the accident, then even worse things should be said about him. There is pain from his family, we have yet to see how much guilt should be felt as well.

This article makes me sick to my stomache!! The things reporters will write just to make a story. I don't even understand why reporters would talk to staff and teachers at AHS, It's been 4 years since Mike went there... and even longer since he failed that dumb teachers FRESHMAN english class. Lets get real here! Go talk to Mike's friends because I know what they will tell you! Mike was an amazing guy, quite the ladies man, and one of the most trustworthy people you would ever meet. He was always smiling and could make ANYONE laugh even in the worst of times. No one will every forget his whistle, or his ridiciously funny comments! He would drop anything to help a friend in need, he had a heart of gold! Someone commented something about this being fishy! It was an accident! Something went wrong!!! Why is it people have to point the blame at someone? Mike's gone. Have some respect for his family and friends whose lives will NEVER be the same without him! In my opinion of your wern't lucky enough the know him, you shouldnt open your mouth!

R.I.P- BIG MIKE- Always in our hearts Chief <3

All of you can fuck off that have said bad things! DannyD, you are a fucking idiot! Who the hell are you to talk to badly about him when you have no idea who he is. He was young and did stupid things but for the past two years he was getting his life together, starting a business, and things were really looking up for him. You don't know him so maybe you should stop being ignorant and shut the fuck up. Mike was the most loving person i have ever met and would have done anything for the people he loved. He was my best friend and no one can ever replace him. He could lighten anyone's mood with a joke, one of his stupid voices, some kind of dance, or just doing something that you couldn't explain or know why he was doing it; but it still made you laugh. He is loved by so many people and his death is affecting all the surrounding towns. He was an experienced snowmobile rider and he went on those trails everyday, I went on them with him. It was an accident, they happen. Stop trying to blame it on everything else. You aren't say that someone is a bad driver when they get in an accident if they have been driving for 10 years. So don't say that he did something wrong. I hate all of you for being so sick and not even caring that and wonderful person has lost their life.
p.s. Jen is doing pretty good in the hospital and they are expecting a full recovery

The Testa family will never be the same either, through not fault of their own. Did the young woman asked to be in a coma? A pure accident or one that could have been avoided with proper care?

I really dont understand why people take the time to comment on an article when they have no clue who Mike was, or what happened with his ACCIDENT! Mike was the best friend I couldve ever asked for! He was my brother, my support when I needed anything. A day didnt pass when he was not there for me, or anyone. He was constantly helping everyone out that needed it. Yah he got into some trouble, but what teenage boy hasnt?! Does graduating high school really matter? Last I checked not everyone graduates high school, and Im pretty positive that Mike got his GED and has his own landscaping company! Mike has been riding snowmobiles for the past 10 years, accidents happen. People that drive cars for 30 plus years crash, and do we blame them? No its an accident!

Michael I love you, and you will always be the best brother I couldve asked for, and the best Uncle as well! Rest Easyy Baby <3

Jen- My thoughts and prayers are with you, your a strong girl you can make it threw this!
