I am ashamed of those involved in the comments left for Mike in this article, there was ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO MENTION ANY NEGATIVE things about this young and talented man.. thoughts are w the friends that lost a great one ..

I agree if i didn't know mike this would have come off the wrong way. Every one has negatives about them, but some are not for the public. especially in a time like this. How could you write about something so awful like this knowing what his parents and family are going through. You and the Ayer teachers should apologize for the harsh article.

well, your comment really holds up when you spell words wrong. It was a bit odd but the ayer staff and facutly should not apologize. They maybe should have said no comment; but you people would be complaining about that too. My prayers go out to this family.

Boy I hope these guys don't talk to anyone at my school when I meet my fate. What part of that is "honor"? Condolences to all family and friends involved.

MICHAEL WAS IN SCHOOL 3 YEARS AGO, THEY SHOULD GO TO HIS FRIENDS THAT KNEW HIM NOW, AND ASK WHAT TYPE OF MAN THEY WOULD DESCRIBE HIS AS. WHO CARES IF HE MADE SOME TROUBLE IN SCHOOL OR TOOK A CLASS TWICE. WE ALL DID THAT DOESNT MEAN WE ARE BAD PEOPLE. WRITERS WOULD HAVE BETTER REPSONSES AND FIND NOTHING BUT POSITIVITY ABOUT MIKE IF THEY TALKED TO WHO MATTERED IN HIS LIFE. EVEN IF HIS FAMILY DOES NOT WANT TO COMMENT ON THIS TRAGEIC LOSS THE PEOPLE WHO WERE WITH HIM ON NEW YEARS WOULD HAVE TOLD THE REAL STORY OF MIKE. HIS FACEBOOK PAGE SAYS IT ALL. HE WAS AMAZING, RESPECTFUL, SMART, WAS PROUD OF HIS BUSINESS AND ALWAYS MADE THE CROWD SMILE. NEVER FORGET THAT SMILE

I'm going to reserve judgement till I know what happened. If he drove recklessly and under the influence and critically injured a young woman, then harsh words are appropriate. We just don't know yet.

The Sentinel shouldn't have written this negative article about a young man's tragic loss of life.
Laura Daisy and Ms. Wittimer shouldn't have said anything negative about behavior or failing English. How would you feel if it were your child they were writing about and their past wasn't perfect. I have heard nice comments from his friends that he was a good friend and person.
At least the Principal, Don Parker was kind when talking about Mike.

Does anyone know what happened, does this guy have a history of driving fast and being careless?
Sounds like he got into a fair amount of trouble, let's not make him out to be an angel till we get the tox screen and accident report.
Why do people knock the newspaper for printing the truth?

I find it sad and disappointing to read such comments about a child who has lost his life so tragically. In the big picure of life, does it really matter what our actions are as teens? Does it not matter more what kind of person one is at heart and what one has done to enhance and bring joy to those who have been fortunate enough to have known and been touch by them.
My heart is with Michael's family and friends, the fortunate ones.

This is all ridiculous. First of all the investigation isn't even done and everyone just starts assuming facts. There is likely no way of even proving who was driving the snowmobile until they talk to the young woman involved who, from what I've heard, is in a medical coma at the present time. It makes my blood boil when people speak ill of the dead. We will all meet our demise at one point or another, and I for one wouldn't want every indescretion I've ever made be points of judgement for my entire life. Almost everyone does stupid things in high school, even the best kids make mistakes. Don't forget this kid was 21 yrs old. I would pray people would remember what that age was like. I for one did not make the best decisions at that age. And take the worst case scenario, does that change the fact that the family and friends of these kids have suffered a major loss? People should put themselves in someone else's shoes before passing judgement!!!

Someone loses there life in a tragic accident and people go and trash him? Where is your dignity?? Why write an article about honor, when you bring up negative things. What if someone takes all of your faults and publish's it in a newpaper? No one needs to know his academic records. His family is having an extreme difficult time, and this article im sure just made it much worse. People are not perfect, we all make mistakes. He was a wonderful person and that is how he should be remembered.
