Considering Tony Gonzalez also started his career off a bit slow, I'd say Vernon Davis is definitely on the right track to follow in Gonzalez's footsteps. Let's see how the 49ers finish off the season though, after all, it is only the end of week 6.

Vernon Davis, in his fourth NFL season, might take some inspiration from the tight end on the other sideline Sunday when the 49ers face the Atlanta Falcons.
