Troy was pretty good back in the day. and as i recall we didnt use much of running game after the days of Delvin Williams, till Ricky came along. when we had Strock,& Woodley, then Marino, our backs never got much of a chance to even be affective...GO PHINS!!!

Hey Troy,
Do you see the Fins making the playoffsor even be playoff spoilers to other teams this year? I know alot of people think this is a long shot, but I think after a few games this offense will start to finally gel, and that will help the defense because it may keep them off the field longer. I'm not saying that they will turn into Indy, but they could be dangerous this year. What do you think?

Thanks for pointing that out to the other posters. I'm sure they would have been much better at the RB position in the NFL than the 1987 Rookie of the Year was.
Regardless, thanks for the insight Troy! I for one still remember you rambling down the field in your rookie year against Dallas on a Sunday night carrying Cowboy defenders with you and icing the game for the Fins after a huge game (150+ yards I believe)!
Thanks again!

Troy gave some great and direct insight, something few sports "announcers" do nowadays, I appreciated that!
Troy, thanks for the great memories, always enjoyed watching you play. I especailly remember the concern on Dan Marino's face when they said you had a serious injury.

Just because Shula's late 80's teams were, like the food in his steak houses, forgettable mediocrities, it doesn't mean all the players were.

This kid had some moves, if my memory serves me correct he returned a kick off for a td in 1st preseason game of his rookie season in JOE ROBBIE stadium against Buffalo. I also think it was the only time we ever played them in a preseason game. He had moves that were comparable to Barry Sanders at times and he was a joy to watch in amazement when he did perform these great feats. He was electric !!!

Forgettable mediocrities?

I'll NEVER forget those teams, perrenial division champs, perrenial playoff contenders 10-12 wins a season.

I think I speak for other finfans when I say those years are anything but "forgettable"
