it is nice that someone else has come up with a better system than yards accrued. That makes no scene in determining how good a team is. For example, the Vikings are not good on defense because they give up a lot of yards. I say what else can an opposing team do when they are down by 21 in the fourth quarter? They have to pass and the defense goes into that nauseating prevent mode. All of the sudden they are giving up 200 yards. I am not saying that is acceptable and that our D has failed big in the last few games but there are better ways to determine the worth of a teams offense and defense.

There is really only one stat that matters. W vs L. Everything else is for fantasy football.

It is what it is. The Vikings defense has never been all that good in the 4th quarter. Now there's a stat that has never been recorded. Or how about second half stat's? I believe stats are for coaching or coaches to make their adjustments accordingly. Stats don't win or lose games. But they do give a good accounting of what just took place. With that info. Good coaches should be able to adjust accordingly.

Just because ESPN says this are that doesn't mean it is true. It is just an oppinion of some commentator. Who probably heard it from some other commentator.

The Vikings Offense is much better this year. They have more weapons and a much better QB. Now if they could just start blocking better they'd have a strong offense.

The Vikings defense is very good sometimes. Other times they can't do their jobs at all. That isn't the sign of a Super-Bowl team.

Now lets talk about stupid mistakes like penaltys. That has cost this team big time on both side of the ball. Is there a stat for that? Interceptions have changed the scoreboard more than not. They also wipe away any positives, including stats.

Sometimes I think that the Williams boys have relaxed too much because Jarad Allen is covering their backs. Kevin Williams used to a dominant player on the line who was only limited by the opposing team doubling up on him. With the addition of Allen, the theory was that Williams would be even more effective because they wouldn't be able to double-team him. So much for theories.

They still are doubling him... that's why Jared is on a terror. If they start doubling Jared you'll see Kevin coming straight up the middle and no team wants to see that so I doubt if we will see it. With Kevin or Jared... it's a pick your pain thing.

Dont care what the stats say. Anybody that knows anything about football knows that both the Vikes O and D are a force to be reckened with. If we need help anywhere, its surely the secondary with or without Winfield. This has been the downfall of the Vikings for almost 20 years. Get er' done this Sunday Purple! Skol

If the defensive backs come out more physical the red flags will fly. Now the officials will be looking for contact. Watch for them being flagged on a couple of pass interference penalties when they get beat long. Why do people think GB is the only team that has improved since they last played? Vikes by 10 which is a similiar prediction I made the first game. Packer backers have to quit living in the past, this is 2009. Go Vikes!!!!

The Pack almost beat the Queens in the Dome. Had it not been for a dropped pass in the endzone and a couple of long drives ended on turnovers, the outcome would have been different. At Lambeau, in front of the home crowd, it'll be a fun game. The fans in Green Bay are used to watch Favre throw interceptions. They'll be cheering each one he throws.

If the refs do their job, and that's a huge "IF" in Green Bay, then we'll be just fine with their DB's pressing. Their style is to hold & grab about 10 yards off the LOS, and they get away with it a lot. It's also one reason why they're the most penalized team in the league. But the refs can't/won't call everything that goes on, and we will need to adjust if we see that they're getting away with murder. One solution: AD. Another: wildcat with Percy.

" Vikings defensive tackle Pat Williams and cornerback Benny Sapp were fined $5,000 apiece for separate unnecessary roughness penalties at Pittsburgh."

I think some of these roughness penalties are getting out of hand. They show them on the re-play and it barely anything. I understand the intent of the penalty but it is football. Let them play the game. Maybe they should put flags on the QB instead of tackling them !!!!!!

Not having Winfield sure hurts our team. Our injured d-backfield will just have to man up tomorrow. Peterson is overdue for a good game against the Pack. Skol Vikings.
