Getting Defensive About the Redskins Defense
Much has been made of the impotence of the Washington Redskins offense this season.
Redskins are the NFL's Next Top Model of Mediocrity
Give credit to the Washington Redskins for one thing that they do right; no team is better at modeling the attitudes of their owner and fan base.

Redskins even struggle at showing heart
Not all the news was bad for the Redskins in Sunday's 31-17 loss to Atlanta. Those second-half scoring drives were the best I've seen them put together this season -- nice blocking by the offensive line, nice mix of plays, nice use of the clock, nice work by a battered Jason Campbell. I don't know who called which play -- Sherman Lewis, Sherman Smith, Sherman Hemsley or Shermy from Peanuts -- and with those results, I don't care.
However . . . there's always a 'however' with this team. This week's 'howevers' were many and varied. It took a rant-fest at halftime to inspire the offensive line. The normally stalwart defense stumbled in the second half, when the offense needed it most. And there was a lack of fundamentals and discipline that was appalling.
MMQB: It's safe to lay blame on Landry
For nearly half a season, LaRon Landry received a free pass from the various NFL analysts.
Hoping the Washington Redskins Continue Losing
Another week, another display of total dysfunction on the part of the Redskins. But, it's no longer surprising; it has become expected.
Hall in Middle of Melee Against Old Team
Former Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall was in the middle of a melee that broke out on the Atlanta sideline after a late hit by a Washington Redskins teammate.
Redskins-Falcons preview: Keys to game
CAN OFFENSE STEP IT UP? The Redskins' offense has to be better all-around. From Campbell's decision making, throwing accuracy and poise in the pocket, to the offensive line's blocking to receivers getting open.
Mailbag: Playing Orakpo At Linebacker
Wondering about a player's status? Trying to recall a past game? Want some insight on the Redskins? Redskins.com's Gary Fitzgerald opens up the mailbag on Tuesday and answers fan questions.
What happened on Jackson's TD for Eagles?
Posted by ESPN.com's Matt Mosley Why even bother with the Wildcat formation when you can simply hand the ball off to DeSean Jackson on the end around and have him go for 67 yards? It's not like the play should have been that hard to diagnose.
Big breakdowns doom Redskins' defense
The Washington Redskins' defense can't merely play well to provide a decent chance at winning.
What would you do? Your Rebuilding Plans
Well now that we saw what he can do, he is a downgrade from Campbell. Now that we know our QBs are not very and the backups on our O-Line suck, we are pretty much stuck.
Defense at best when dug in at 1
Members of the Washington Redskins' defense high-fived each other and pumped their fists as they jogged off the field early last Sunday.
Horton avoiding major mistakes
The Carolina Panthers were in a run formation, and it was almost as if they announced a run play toward Horton's gap was on the way.
Week 5: Game Balls and Gassers
My recap of the best and worst performances from the Redskins' 20-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday: GAME BALLS DE Andre Carter: Carter had his best game of the season, and it came against Pro Bowl tackle Jordan Gross, no less.
Football Q&a: Texas College's Brandon Sam
Brandon Sam still plays at full speed, with full confidence the Texas College Steers can shift gears on a season that's been stuck in reverse.
Road shutout is Giants' first since '83 here
The New York Giants ran away from Tampa Bay, 24-0, yesterday, posting their first shutout on the road since they beat the Eagles, 23-0, on Nov.

Always Thinking Big, Redskins' Fletcher Remains an Inspiration
Most of London's Brigade -- the 16 kids from McFarland Middle School mentored and sponsored by an NFL veteran -- climbed the escalator of the Capitol visitor's center last week with their tour group.
'Hey, it's Nancy Pelosi,' London Fletcher said, stopping everyone to pay respect.
'Hi,' the House speaker said, smiling, walking briskly, oblivious she was waving to the middle linebacker of the Washington Redskins and the children who make up his District-based foundation.
'Aw, she looks busy,' he said, moving on.
trade value for the Redskins/uncapped year
If this thing keeps going south, we need to dump the fat while we can still get some value for it.

DETROIT, Sept. 27 -- As the small crowd of long-suffering Detroit Lions fans hugged and exchanged high-fives in the stands, the Washington Redskins trudged to the visitors' locker room Sunday afternoon at Ford Field to begin what figures to be another difficult week early in a season that finds them already at a crossroads.
Players and coaches acknowledged there would be much to reevaluate in the coming days after the Lions ended a 19-game losing streak with a 19-14 victory over the Redskins in front of an announced crowd of 40,896 at Ford Field. The job status of embattled Coach Jim Zorn -- whose two questionable calls in the first quarter helped shift momentum to the Lions -- is among the issues Redskins owner Daniel Snyder might consider in assessing the team's embarrassing performance for long stretches against the Lions. It appears, however, there also are pressing football matters the team must quickly address with 13 games remaining.
