Green Bay Inquires About Jason Taylor
The Green Bay Packers have made what is being described as an "exploratory inquiry" with the Dolphins about Jason Taylor's status, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
The Packers are in need of a pass rusher because the team's pass rush specialist, Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, is rehabilitating a surgically repaired knee. If a deal is made, Taylor would team with Aaaron Kampman to form a formidable defensive end tandem in Green Bay.
Taylor played for the Packers defensive coordinator, Bob Sanders, and defensive tackles coach Robert Nunn in the early part of this decade. In Green Bay, Sanders uses the same defense he used when he was with the Dolphins from 2001-2004.

Notebook: Late start means two fewer practices
The Packers will have two fewer practices in training camp this year than last because of their late preseason opener.
By all accounts, the surgery Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila had Thursday morning in Green Bay was not a serious matter, but more of a proactive move.
