Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is no stranger to criticism after his years in the Windy City, but with a new seven-year contract and a bevy of weapons that would make any other signal-caller jealous in the NFL, things are even more heated this season. That point was driven home in a big way last week when the Bears were knocked off by the Buffalo Bills in Week 1 action.
This is the live blog for the 49ers' Week 2 game against the Bears. I'll update this frequently with information and analysis from the press box.
For the Bears, Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery are both ACTIVE for today's game. Both were working out before hand and seemed to be doing OK.
Patrick Willis is a seven-time Pro Bowler and six-time All-Pro, but he still has fair amount of unfinished business. In an interview airing tonight on NBC's Football Night in America , the inside linebacker said he's driven to win the ultimate team award and receive the ultimate individual honor before he finishes his career.

If any of the injured wide receivers -- Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall and Josh Morgan -- aren't ready to play Sunday night, roster moves will be made. The Bears have four wide receivers on the practice squad, starting with first-year player Josh Bellamy, who caught 7 passes for 140 yards in the preseason.
Brandon Marshall, who has an ankle injury, missed practice again while Alshon Jeffery practiced for the first time this week. Josh Morgan, who has a groin injury, was downgraded to doubtful after suffering a setback in practice Wednesday and missing Thursday's and Friday's practices.

Last year the Chicago Bears started the same five offensive linemen in all 16 games, this season they are already forced to replace two fifths of the group. Both center Roberto Garza and guard Matt Slauson are suffering from high ankle sprains and neither will play Sunday night.
If history is any indication, a Bears victory in Santa Clara on Sunday night against the 49ers is crucial to their playoff chances. Since the NFL switched to a 16-game schedule in 1978, the Bears have started 0-2 seven times.
Vic Fangio made it clear on Thursday: He expected big things out of rookie cornerback Dontae Johnson. But maybe not in the first quarter of the first game of the first season of his NFL career.
Bears starting receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery sat out their second straight practice Thursday as they continue their recovery from injuries suffered last weekend. Chicago coach Marc Trestman said Wednesday that each player was "day-to-day," though Marshall has maintained that he'll play Sunday night when the Bears visit the 49ers , assuming he has any say.
