Chicago Bears Sackwatch 2014: Week 1 vs. Buffalo Bills
I thought the Chicago Bears' pass protection was solid throughout the game in their 23-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills even though they allowed two sacks. In this weekly series I'll examine what happened on every sack the Bears allow during the 2014 season.

Injuries hamper Bears practice
Michael Ola and Brian de la Puente have been preparing for this since the start of Chicago Bears training camp, if not longer. A year after going through the entire regular season without a starting lineup change on their offensive line, the Chicago Bears are looking at the possibility that two spots will be manned by reserves at San Francisco on Sunday night due to the ankle injuries to center Roberto Garza and left guard Matt Slauson.

Opening Weekend for all NFL teams means one thing and one thing only - a clean slate. This rings especially true for the Chicago Bears , a team that had one of the worst run defenses in recent memory.
Bears Offense Needs to Show Growth in Year Two
The focus leading into Sunday's season opener has been all about the Bears defense. Can they stop the run like they did at the beginning of last year? Can they get the Bills into third-and-long situations so the revamped defensive line can pin their ears back? Are the linebackers not named Lance Briggs prepared to make plays? Does the team have any starting-caliber safeties? All great questions, but none of them really matter in Week 1 if the Bears offense does what we expect it to do in the second year under Marc Trestman.

Bears can't let Spiller, Jackson get loose
Job One for the Bears' defense Sunday will be containing the combination of Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller, which gives the Bills one of the NFL's most potent rushing attacks. Spiller rushed for 933 yards and averaged 4.6 yards per carry last season, while Jackson ran for 890 yards and averaged 4.3 yards.

Chicago Bears place Marquess Wilson on IR/Designated to return, bring back Kelvin Hayden
The IR with a designation to return can only be used once each season, so the fact that the Bears used it on Wilson, shows just how high they view his ceiling.
