Why don't you just catch it? Put it in ur dog pin and just have it as ur pet? U don't seem to be scared of it cause it's little but THE QUESTION IS WHERE'S THE BIG ONE????

I have been feeding just about every animal that comes on to my place every since I moved down here from Ohio and have never seen an agressive reaction towards me or my wife or grandchildren. They are all God's creatures and we do not make them dependant but do enjoy giving them lil snacks. Some of the squirrels we have named and have grown to love and even the racoons, ground hogs and opossums enjoy our loving company. I think we can handle a bear its size and they are pretty gentle creatures unless their are cubs involved. I would never cage such an animal and it just goes to show ones mentality. I love all creatures even ones that are critical of me.

I could walk outside and be struck by lightening as well but I don't live my life in fear but in love. I am not grizzly adams by no means but I will enjoy mother nature as I see fit. My whole family enjoys the wildlife here and my once scared of their own shadow grandchildren are no longer afraid to interact with the creatures that come to my home. My grandson Troy loves feeding and playing with the animals and he would scream at the sight of them when he first visited. Here is a pic from a couple years ago of him getting Charlie the opossum out of the house when we were doing some drywall.

Hurt?

I have nor has anyone in my family been hurt or seriously threatened by any animal that has come to my place with the exception of being chased by a pack of dogs once while walking back from my mailbox but whether or not they were chasing me for sure I will never know. I began to run and looked back and they were gone. They may have been running from something. I have ran over rabbits and squirrels but I had no choice. I have even removed snakes using a pillow case and a cane pole from my screened in porch. I watch animal planet almost nightly and have watched how they interact with animals and have learned a lot not only about animals but people as well. I have just about every episode of Kentucky Afield and I have the Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom DVD collection.

inside,
The wife and I both think this is a young bear because of its size. It is not agressive at all and appears quite lazy. We usually see it late in the evening but can hear it from time to time at night we think.
If the bear appears young you; think about the mother bear. I take my children to the State Park from time to time. I know a lot of other people who visit as well and go on the nature walk. I think the bear should be left alone and learn how to find food on its own. I would hate to hear of a bear attack in our community.

WHY ARE YOU ALL SCREAMING? You can buy a home in Russell County for under 90K but in California that will just get you a building lot if you are lucky. The cost of living in Russell County is one of the lowest in the country.

I read last year that bears were spotted by the park and also in Casey Co. I have even heard of Elk in Pulaski. We may as well get used to it. Maybe we will now find out if a bear really does poop in the woods.

I have no doubt that someone is seeing bears. I have seen several tracks and I have also seen several large cat prints as well.

I have seen Cat prints at Sarah's Cards and Gifts in Jamestown. She has the one by Tony Wilson overlooking Cumberland River .It's about 18"x24" .
