Wes Hodkiewicz is one of the hardest-working Packers reporters out there, and he broke a story this morning that will apparently affect the way the Packers schedule the few remaining spots that are available on the roster.

We all know that Ted Thompson is a pretty good evaluator of talent - it will be interesting if any of his finds in the undrafted ranks will stand the time like one who played with the Green Bay Packers 50 years ago.

To most experts, the Green Bay Packers had a very successful 2013 NFL draft. The team addressed a number of needs at various positions, and in some cases doubled-down in those areas.

Players like Charles Woodson, Tramon Williams and Casey Hayward have been used all over the field - and thrived along the way.

While the Green Bay Packers addressed an important need with David Bakhtiari , a tackle out of Colorado and J.C. Tretter , a guard/tackle out of Cornell, Ted Thompson and his staff didn't stop there.

While the Green Bay Packers will likely enter the 2013 season with two first-round starters at outside linebacker, few other positions on the roster possessed less overall depth at the start of the 2013 NFL draft.

As always, there's a lot of talent available that didn't get drafted. Last year, the Green Bay Packers got plenty of production out of Dezman Moses, who they signed as an undrafted free agent.

The Packers are woefully shorthanded at outside linebacker and there aren't a lot of great options for prospects who project to a 3-4 scheme.

As a draft nerd, I've gotta say this draft strikes me as one with plenty of depth and few transcendent talents outside of maybe the top two offensive tackles .
