Linebacker Brandon Chillar leaves Rams for Packers
Linebacker Brandon Chillar's tenure with the St. Louis Rams is over as he signed a two-year, $5.4 million contract with the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday, the Green Bay Press Gazette reported.
Chillar, 25, played in 63 games, including 41 starts, in four seasons with the Rams.
The Arizona Cardinals and the Rams also were pursuing Chillar, an unrestricted free agent.
Chillar will receive more than $3 million in the first year of his deal with the Packers. He's expected to compete for a starting job with Brady Poppinga, who has started at strong-side linebacker the past two seasons. Read more
